Nocturna Models have begun a rather interesting project called The Quest. Their aim is to create a range of different character models which not only give you interesting miniatures to paint but also a narrative to explore. Here are a few of the first pieces of their story...

Autumn Fall

All of the miniatures you'll be seeing here are available on their webstore at the moment but the upcoming Kickstarter campaign promises a whole new group of heroes. Above you have Autumn Fall which shows a Halfling Minstrel enjoying some time in the woods.

Next up we get a little more eldritch with Enchantment. This figure is an Elven (or Human) woman drawing power from the beyond and joining forces with a dragon.

Enchantment

As you can see they have been weaving a story and some background into the pieces we've seen so far. I think having a range to draw on for this already allows backers to feel that bit more confident when backing a campaign.

Lastly we have my favourite miniature from their preview, Masquerade.

MasqueradeEach of these models are around the 75mm range with them standing between 80mm and 100mm tall (especially when it comes to the tree from the first piece). I like Masquerade the best because here we see a character that could indeed be from beyond the grave of simply wearing a mask to hide his true self (He does come with an alternative head option).

I like the idea that this hero was cursed and his flesh withered away like Richter Kruegar of The Cursed Company in Warhammer Fantasy. Now he seeks adventure to find a way of reversing the curse.

What do you think of this idea for a narrative focused line-up of miniatures?
