Today we're moving on to another set of expansion vehicles for Gale Force Nine's Tanks: WWII Skirmish Game. We're heading back to the Depot to see what the British have to offer with three Tanks which will be available throughout May 2016...

Tanks

I think if I was going to get into this game then I reckon the British would be the way to go. After all, while the Germans might have the 'coolest' tanks it just wouldn't be seemly to play with anything else right?

Comet Expansion

Leading the way for the British we have the Comet. This is a damn fine looking tank and I love how it looks so much like a modern tank that we know from our own current history.

TANKS09-Comet

"Based on the Cromwell design, the Comet saw a number of upgrades. A powerful anti-tank gun and extra armour did little to slow the new heavy cruiser down. They reached the front lines late in the war where they helped the Allied forces across the Rhine and into the heart of Germany."

Comet

The tank comes with Fast as a key word allowing it to rush forward and get into the right positions when it comes to the fighting. It also has the ability to re-roll a dice when it comes to shooting making it a damn good shot.

Cromwell Expansion

Leading on from the Comet and based on the design of the Cromwell we have the aforementioned tank.

TANKS08-Cromwell

"Fitted with the powerful Meteor engine the Cromwell was classed as a cruiser tank and operated as armoured reconnaissance. As the fastest British tank of the war the Cromwell succeeded in battle by outflanking its sluggish opponents."

Cromwell

Fast and accurate really seems to be the way that Gale Force Nine are pushing the British. It certainly seems to work within the Historical context of the game. It is quicker than the Comet but not as durable.

Sherman/Firefly Expansion

Finally we have another duel pack which includes both a Sherman V & Firefly for you to play around with. From the looks of the build instructions it seems like you might be able to get away with just switching the turrets and making a few of the armour plates magnetised.

TANKS07-Firefly

Firefly
Sherman V

Certainly slower and with less armour the Firefly and Sherman aren't going to be your deadliest additions to the British armour but they have got the ability to re-roll shots and are cheaper than the bigger tanks above like the Cromwell and the Comet.

Which of these tanks will you be using?
