Check Out BlackRain AlphaStrain Now On Kickstarter
March 21, 2016 by brennon
Shockwork Studio have taken to Kickstarter to see about funding their new miniatures line for BlackRain. The first of these miniature collections is for the AlphaStrain which brings you two factions. We also get sent through an exclusive snippet of information on the Bashe...
As mentioned above there are two factions which form the main target of this Kickstarter campaign. These are the N.A.U also known as the North American Union...
...and followed by UNAS (United Asia). Both of these sides will have a series of infantry models, characters and also some walker mechs too in the future.
The design is very much in the vein of 'Battlefield Cyberpunk'.
The miniatures themselves are 35mm scale and come cast in resin. The team are actually working alongside MaxMini when it comes to the production of these characters and troopers. You can see some of their test sculpts below to give you and idea of how they'll look when finished.
Not too bad at all I'd say. The game also comes with some Quickstart Rules for their game so you actually have a game to play with the miniatures once you've snapped them up.
Exclusive Concept Art Peek
We also mentioned that we'd got an exclusive look at a future model and that's the Bashe who you can see in concept form below.
In game Bashe is a walking machine of whirling death with those tentacles. He is capable of ripping some of the heavy mechs to pieces and is an expert at dealing with heavy armour. According to Shockwork he is perfect for players who like to get stuck in. Kudos to the UNAS for having him in their ranks!
Will you be checking this out?

Those look really good.
Some of these I am getting a Metal Gear vibe from and that is not a bad thing at all.
Some nice miniatures guys and really liking the mecha types you are showing.
love the walkers.
Thanks! Share the news please!
I’m not sure about the pose on Kali. The sword hiding the face is a little odd. Other than that though, the models look pretty good.
I like Gutierrez and the mech.
