Adam’s Gen Con Update (Saturday) & Cardhalla
August 7, 2011 by atomsmasher
Ok time for another report from Adam. This time he’s showing us the Cardhalla, a charity event they have been doing at Gen Con since 1999.
It involves building a city from donated trading cards (like Magic: The Gathering) over a few days during the event, then throwing coins at it till it’s just a ruined pile.
The coins are then collected and donated to charity.
That looks like sheer mayhem.. but absolute fun 🙂
Cool! And by the way: thank you very much for this amazing work you did for us. I wish I could have been there but the travel cost alone is too much for me, so I am very glad about all these videos.
Great to me you Adam and of corse play some Vortex with you.
Great to meet you, too. It was fun to get stomped by you in Vortex and I’m really looking forward to reading the rulebook.

Well done Adam. You look shot, so if you need a break next year let me know. It’s only an 18 hour flight.
I appreciate the comments, guys. It’s a lot of fun and great to meet everyone, but it is pretty tiring. Glad I thought ahead and took Monday after the convention to rest and decompress. I’m currently sitting in my local coffeeshop, catching up on non-gaming email, having a bagel and a red eye, and reading some of the gaming books I picked up at Gen Con.
