Black Library Expand On Horus Heresy With Primarchs Series
March 10, 2016 by brennon
The folks at Black Library have announced that they are going to be beginning a new book series set before the time of the Horus Heresy. This will focus on the Primarchs themselves and their exploits among the stars. The first champion in the spotlight will be Roboute Guilliman of the Ultramarines...
There will be eighteen novels in total over four years with the first book coming out in May. I can certainly see this appealing to a lot of Warhammer 40,000 and Horus Heresy fans and it shakes up the literature a bit to have this look back to the past.
I'm sure there will be plenty of you wanting your own Primarch to get their book - patience is a virtue!
Will you be getting all of them or just the Primarchs you like?

would be very interested in this if it has them facing off against unknown/minor alien races
Looking forward to reading these 😀 .
They also say the stories can take place during or even after the Heresy.
Can’t help but feel this is stretching things slightly. Maybe it’s because the HH books themselves have gone off in different directions and perhaps this series of books is an attempt to give some direction? In the beginning, the HH seemed to written more of a tragedy. You’ve got these guys trying to do the right thing, and it going horrible wrong. That their fall wasn’t so simple; you could see why they had taken the path they set themselves on. But as the series has gone on, it’s been less about that, and more adventures with Space Marines of… Read more »
Great big body… little tiny head. I take back most of the nice things I’ve said about GW’s artists 🙂
40k has a lot of cool fluff and I’ve enjoyed the Black Library delving back into it and expanding on it. Horus Heresy, The Beast Arises and the various books on famous characters or conflicts have all been well worth the read. But I really don’t appreciate the fact that aside from those grand epics and the (rapidly worsening) Space Marine Battles we only get novels that tie in with new miniature releases or glorified fluff expansions. There seams to be a lot more control over what the various authors are allowed write about. Aside from reprinting older books as… Read more »
Some of those could be interesting. I would love one were there is long version of duel between Lion and Russ.
sounds good I hope they have new story’s not just old ones from the Primarchs angle?
