Board and Card games have taken over this year with additions like Pandemic Legacy absolutely rocketing up and stealing the limelight - it even knocked Warren's favourite, Twilight Struggle off the top spot on BGG.

This was another difficult category. All four are very good games, but I am going to go out on a limb here with my pick….

I have the three that are board games. All are very well done. But, as Kingdom Death is also a piece of artwork on every level and part, I have to go with that on this one.
@kommissar – Same for me, it was between Dungeon Saga and Kittens, and as I own Kittens (but really want to get DS) it had to be that.
Calth was snapped up as a 30k starter set more than a board game I think, am yet to hear anyone who has it play it as a board game!
For me GW smashed it with BaC. It stands alone and increases ones own collection at a significant savings.

No argument that exploding kitten is a very successful game, but believe me it is not good. We tried it in a very good round of people and it was nice for an hour but I think most of us will never play it again. So I’m quite shocked to see it making it to the finals. Guys (and Gals of course) this category is about the BEST boardgame. Pandemic Legacy should have taken this with flying colors. It just perfect. Or near perfection. And it isn’t even in the finals. Kingdom Death has my vote will be really disappointed if exploding kittens wins.
I think this one goes to Kingdom Death, it’s just such an amazing experience as well as a good game.
uu tuff chouce, I think as board game Dungeon saga has no competition in finals but exploding kittens are great game too, I go for DS because it is much better game than card game. but I can see why if kittens will win.
I am suprised that PL didng got in, its so supreme game to any other nominated game.
lol, no Pandemic Legacy AND no Blood Rage. This is why fans shouldn’t be allowed to vote for these things… Or just change name to “Fan Awards”.

All very good games no doubt..but it’s about the best and the only truly outstanding one is KD:M.

Dropping my wedge on Dungeon Saga
Either I have very excellent taste… or very common taste 😀 I have 3 out of 4 of these.
All my money on KD:M and with my winnings I shall purchase BaC lol
Love both BaC (as a game, not just as a minatures source) and Dungeon Saga …… damn ……. I’m going to go Dungeon Saga
I own Dungeon Saga but mmm it has a few issues as does AvP again I have paid for it but have as yet to receive it so cant give it a review at all. I have heard nothing but good things about Kingdom Death so Im picking that for my main pick and possible contenders Pandamic, Bloodrage and Rum & Bones.
I hope Dungeon Saga wins but I wouldn’t be surprised by any of the finalists winning.
I’m quite surprised by this one. I haven’t played Pandemic Legacy, but the base game is utterly brilliant and I’ve only heard that the Legacy version is even better. I have played Blood Rage and it was amazing. Fantastic sculpts, really tight rules, really easy to pick up, really well designed rule book, and a really fun and close game. I like Kingdom Death: Monster, but although it’s a work of art and I like the idea of the customisable figures and storyline, it seems a bit too niche to justify placing so highly.
