The Twisted Kickstarter Is Off, Running & Funded!
February 17, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
We not only have launch of the long awaited, steampunk genius of Twisted, we have success! Demented Games launched their Kickstarter for Twisted yesterday and it hit the ground running.
There's already been lots of goodies unlocked and new things opened up within the project.
Twisted is a story driven, steampunk meets storybook game for 2 or more players. In this skirmish tabletop game, players get to field some of the most beautiful 32mm miniatures you can find. The game features finely detailed metal minis, or for those collectors, an assortment of exquisite resin models.
The Engine is the hidden source of steampunk power permeating the world Twisted. But it is more than just a god-like machine: it has a selfish consciousness seeking to transform the world according to its own designs, and a jealous ego unwilling to share this power!
Rumours of the Engine’s influence are spreading throughout the world of Twisted, and competing factions have emerged seeking to discover the secret access points to the Engine’s power: the Nodes.
The first faction to stumble upon one of these Nodes is the Dickensians: their discovery of an Engine Node hidden deep beneath the darkest sewers of London triggers an explosion of raw steampunk power as the Engine – sensing danger – fights back by summoning the Servants of the Engine!
To really help set the scene for this immersive world of Twisted, Demented Games has partnered with CNC Workshop Miniatures Scenery to produce some absolutely perfect, whimsical terrain. This assortment of MDF terrain will allow gamers the chance to really feel like they are in the steampunk world.
There is a fantastic variety of pledge levels to suit many gamers - a starter box, a faction or two or more, terrain, art, resin minis for collectors or the whole lot. There's even a very magical option that allows you work with the creators to design a character that will be sculpted and written into the game with its own rules!
As I mentioned earlier, the stretch goals have been opened left and right already.
Among those unlocked were the Nouveau Archway terrain piece, Trevor the Rat, a Kickstarter Exclusive model - The Monkey King, Kickstarter Exclusive cards, the Egyptians Starter Set, and The Urkin Slasher & Shooter. And there's plenty more where they came from!
Are you anxiously awaiting to have a game of this whimsical, steampunk game?

Lovely stuff, no wonder this KS got funded so fast. I think it’s going to be a big one!
I cannot wait to play it!
Thrilled to see the KS do so well after such a long build-up. Pledged at the early bird ‘Tesla’ level myself. I think offering a range of (awesome!) scenery alongside the minis is an excellent move.
I am signed up, I really love what they are doing, the sculpts are just magnificent.
I have first hand experience of the fact that these two people are two of the most pleasant people in the gaming industry today. Their product is as good if not better than so many others out there. I cannot back this kickstarter, but if I could I would, without a second thought or glance back at my bank manager and bare in mind I have never and I mean never seen a kickstarter I would support ever before. So what makes them so different, 1, I asked about one of their minis because it would so match a friend… Read more »
That’s the kind of people I want to support. Well said. 🙂
the details on the figures are amazing.
The aesthetic and miniatures look amazing but I do not believe they have provided a synopsis of how ‘this skirmish game differs from that skirmish game’ which is a bit disappointing…will keep an eye on that for sure though
Have a look back at when we spoke with them at Adepticon in 2014. We had a nice chat with them where they explained the game mechanic offered by The Machine, that bends and “Twists” the happenings in game play. 😉
It’s a testament to a great product and a couple of years building up interest and getting the product in front of people. I’ve been chomping at the bit for about a year now for this. Word is that the GoH steampunk minis will be incorporated into Twisted at some point too.
Hadn’t heard that. Have been squirreling away GoH minis so if that comes through I will be a very happy gamer 🙂
Wow! Great looking miniatures, great looking game and best of all, the prices aren’t ridiculous either. Also they made the great decision of making all of the starter sets the same price. Sensible folk.
Fantastic mini’s and seemingly a couple of decent guys.Looking forwards to this.
