I’ve seen str 10 dark eldar raider ram on turn 1, it’s crazy to see a decent vehicle like a predator or even land raider go without even seeing the battle.
Only tanks can ram. None of the Dark Eldar vehicles are tanks and thus they cannot ram.
Can they not buy an upgrade that lets them ram?
Shock Ram or something it’s called… or does that just let them tank shock?
The Raiders can take shock prows which let them tank shock and ram.
yeah true, but in this case the tau devil fish would be able to avoid the ram on a roll of a 3+
All skimmers can avoid ramming on a roll of 3+.
As an ork player I must say Defrolla FTW! Killy and dead ‘ard!
I sometime use my trukks to tankshock and ram. Reinforced ram is one most useful upgrade for ork vehicles. The trukk is still cheap as hell but get this little extra hitting power when the boys no longer need it. And dangerous terrain test is nothing to be sneezed at too.
The wreckin’ ball upgrade also allows you a strength 9 hit on any unit within 2″ of it!
I use it in bigger fgames if I get spare points. I’m a Bad Moon so I like my upgrades. Frankly I don’t even remeber ever using the wrcking ball. Boarding planks are also often overlooked as they give you a chance to attack a walker without him attacking back. Though this topis is abou ramming and tankshocking, so let;s not hi-jack it 😉
good tip something that could definitely be used more often
In this scenario it’s good to tank shock dudes off of it but that Devilfish is a skimmer meaning it can dodge that ram on a 3 up so it’s even worse odds…good tip overall though. I definitely don’t see this being used as often as it could.
