Fenris Goes Quacking Over Some New Concepts
January 22, 2016 by dracs
Fenris Games have recently announced that they will soon be bringing out a new series of miniatures based around Earth's scariest creature; ducks!
These art pieces come from Stew Stansfield and draw upon a number of fantasy and historical tropes. Then it applies them to ducks. I am still trying to work out if this is insanity or genius. It's good either way.
Fenris will be using these as the basis for a new selection of models which will be joining their existing Ducktown range of terrain. Hopefully we should be seeing them showing their beaks some time around April.
What do you think of these imaginative duck designs?

Nothing qwackers about ducks, I was DMing a game of Runequest back in the mid 80’s and one of my players got killed by a vampire, lo and behold several nights later a new terror rose from the grave to bring nightmares to the other players for several years… the legendary Phydeaux the Vampire Duck!
These concepts look fabulous and very Gloranthan in theme, can’t wait to get the finished models. Oh no more painting!!!
It will be interesting to see the final models. I love the concept as I think humans are boring.
Fenris have been working with Sandy Peterson producing figures for his Cthulhu Wars board game. Sandy Peterson is back at Chaosium producing the next version of Runequest which will have the Glorantha background reinstated. I picked up a flyer at Salute last year from Fenriis that hinted at a range of Gloranthan figures.
This is the new release of the original version isn’t it?
Oh god help us. This is truly hilarious!
There is nothing hilarious about facing a Runelord Duck I’ll have you know
Unless they release Darkwing Duck, Donald Duck, and Gizmoduck, there is no point in buying ducks.
Come to think of it, I think I have an old fast food kids meal Gismoduck somewhere. I think it shall be declared an official proxy for SOMETHING on tabletop gaming.
