Harley Quinn, Hawkgirl & More Coming To Knight Model’s Batman

Knight Models have shown off the new raft of releases for January which are now available on the webstore. We have a return to the Animated Series collection with Harley Quinn as well as one of Batman's greatest sect of villains, the Court of Owls...
Harley Quinn
Back in the world of the Animated Series we have this amazing looking Harley Quinn miniatures which brings back awesome memories of her funny ways in the cartoon. I think they've done an exceptional job with the Animated Series range.
I still really hope that they go back to some more of this range over the coming months and look at making a version of the Joker, Penguin, Two Face and more.
Feathery Foes
Popping up as one of Batman's deadliest foes we have the full on Court of Owls set which features a range of deadly warriors, the Talons, and their leader.
I think this is a neat looking set which will give you a proper foil for Batman. These are going to be a stealthy crew I would imagine who are equal to Batman in their cunning.
DC Heroes
Following along from these Batman-centric additions we also have three new releases from the wider world. First up is Hawkgirl who I know know of from the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game where she is quite the brutal fighter.
I remember that mace of hers sending foes flying into many a different piece of scenery. While I overall think the design of the DC heroes just doesn't match up to the Marvel-verse I do think she looks good. They did a really nice job on her wings for sure.
In particular the quirky Catman takes us back to Batman and is one of those characters which I don't think many people have really heard of. I certainly hadn't until today. Interestingly he was a once villain of Batman and did his fair share of thieving throughout Gotham.
Interestingly within the New 52 series of comics they have bought Catman back to the universe and it was revealed that he is bisexual - something I don't think is that common amongst comic book characters.
Last but not least we have Cyborg who folks might know from the Justice League. This cyborg warrior is rather awesome and probably my favourite of the three other DC heroes we saw as part of this collection.

Now that’s Harley Quinn that I have been waiting for. Other three are also really good.
I’m loving the animated series models and the Court of Owls, every Gotham without being part of the Batman Mythos as they were around the city since it was built.
Hawl Girls wings and pose seem a little unenthusiastic.
Didn’t even know there was a Catman, they could have picked someone more noticeably part of the Batman Mythos as less of a C lister.
Cyborg is a welcome addition.
What I want to see is an Earth 2 New 52 Batman, he is awesome.

Interesting thing about the Animated Series characters, rules wise they are all lower costed characters with simplified abilities. So arguably they are good starter characters or useful to free up points for taking other heavy hitters. Like all of the other characters released here!
Ah, the best Harley in model-form and She looks perfect. Other sculpts are cool too, good to see a depiction of Cyborg finally too.

Knight Models make some great looking stuff, but their prices are too high. I know with the cost of a licence for something like Batman, they have to make their money back some how, but still it’s a bit off putting seeing such great models at such high prices.
I need that Harley.

Love that harley quinn, as others have said its a shame the price is so high, its only the high cost of entry which stops me getting into the game. Still the mini are so nice will probably buy a few just to paint.
The prices are a bit high but the upside is that the model count is very low. Most crews are in the 5-10 models range, probably topping out at around 15 for ‘horde’ crews. You can typically buy new on ebay for a few quid off with a bit of shopping around. I do hear licencing being cited as the culprit for the cost and I would love to know how true that is. I suspect the metal casting might be a big factor, to it. I think they are manufactured in Spain so there’s some higher overheads to that… Read more »
It essentially adds 10% onto the price. For Star Wars licenses it adds 20%.
I’m not sure if this is still the case but Prodos chose not to use a distributor for Warzone because the license fee would have meant they would have to jack the prices up to be able to make a profit. GW lost money on each LotR mini they sold in the early days of the movie license and had to buy out their plastics manufacturer and move production in house to start making a profit.
The cost is still a little high for me compared to what I can get from another company.
KM’s products are highly priced, there’s no denying that. I still rail against it myself, despite having acquired a sizeable collection in 2015. The price-per-model does keep a lot of people out of the game, which is frustrating when trying to promote it locally. On the plus side, the game doesn’t require many figures to play. You can easily buy a starter box and one or two blisters packs (henchmen or additional heroes) and have a crew to play at rep levels of 150 thru 350.
