Dark Age welcomes a whole range of new faithful followers as Saint John brings the hammer down on those who have wronged him. This is quite the awesome collection of models that are well worth taking a second look at, especially the Paladins...

Saint John

First up we have Saint John who has been resculpted here with hammer outstretched looking down on his foes. While I'm generally quite in favour of the Saints I'm not entirely won over by this resculpt. Something about him looks off in the proportions and he just isn't my cup of tea.

Saint John (Resculpt)

By contrast Saint John on his mount is one of the most awesome models I've seen in a while. I think the model looks ten times better on top of this mechanical beast and with the helmet added too.

Saint John (Mounted)

Weirdly enough I thought that the mounted versions of the previous Saints weren't quite as good as the on foot sculpts so this is a bit of a turn around from me!

Hammer Time

Following on from the Saint himself we have his followers with both the Faithful and the Paladins. Both of these sets are looking awesome and really shown off what the Dark Age range has become. Let's start with the Faithful...

Faithful (Resculpt)

I think these are superb and I love their various poses. I would imagine that in the world of Dark Age these are quite zealous individuals but they haven't overdone it in their design. Instead they have a very refined and almost angelic quality to them - especially the female Faithful member.

Following on from them we really do embrace the zealous nature of these warriors with the Paladins.

Paladin

Here we see the full on warriors of Saint John. I think their armour looks awesome and I like the flails they're using as their weapons. It's sometimes quite hard to get flails right and these seem like they've been sculpted well to look natural in their swing.

It's hard to choose between the male and female versions of the Paladin as they're both so great! Last but not least we have Sir James who appears to be the herald of Saint John with banner in hand.

Sir James

I really like that in this blasted landscape of post-apocalyptic destruction there are these warriors who have embraced this medieval attitude to survival and follow these Saints as their knights.

Are you going to throw your lot in with Saint John?
