Warlord Tease The Zygons For Doctor Who Miniatures Game
December 28, 2015 by brennon
The shape-shifting Zygons from this latest series of Doctor Who formed the basis of a miniatures preview from Warlord Games for their upcoming miniatures game based within this weird and wonderful world. See what you think of the render below...
These crazy folks were responsible for the world being overrun as a dissident faction within their own species fought to break free from the confines that humanity had set on them as they lived amongst us on Earth. I think the model is looking good right now and it will be interesting to see how it translates over to the final version.
I'm still on the edge as to whether or not a Doctor Who Miniatures Game is actually going to work but we shall see what tricks they have up their sleeves.
What do you think?

Outside of the pose, which no doubt can be changed, this sculpt bodes well for further minatures to add to my doctor who collection
It certainly can work. I just think that people can’t expect it to always be the doctor versus whoever. There are certainly enough factions within the Whoverse to produce a very good skirmish game. In general I’m looking forward to the miniatures and this one looks great.
They’re not one of my favourite Doctor Who monsters but as a tease it’s really done its job. Just a little excited about this!
I shamelessly just want multipart plastic daleks. I just want a massive army of daleks I can go crazy with the weathering pigment powders on. Please make plastic daleks Warlord, you will get a large proportion of my bank account if you do.Oh and the figure looks very well sculpted never liked the Zygons, as they have arms and legs.
Perhaps a time war scenario would work as a starter set with the Doctor leading a group of timelords vs the Daleks?
They’d be mad not to.
I’ll hit them with my 7th Doctor umbrella if they do not! They would sell like hot space marines.
like.
I’m looking forward to this 🙂
Bodes well. Old school Daleks please and Sontarans I got to have my favourite Strax in the game.
I’m wondering if Warlord are possibly developing the Dr Who game as a sci-fi dungeon crawler rather than a standard miniatures game.
The scope for this is awesome. I hope Warlord treat this the way Mantic treat the Warpath universe. The flexibility to play it as a wargame, a skirmish game, a major battle, an RPG and a board game or a series of board games would be fantastic. This could be a great way to introduce new players to the table top gaming universe – giving them subject matter that they are familiar with and can relate to. The Dr Who label can introduce a level of interest and ‘coolness’ that other genres cant match. Thankfully Warlord listen to their fans… Read more »
Very nice.
Great to see some more information coming out from this. Personally I am hoping to see 4th-7th Doctor Era cybermen.
I was always fond of the old school monsters. I look forward to this game.
