Loving the videos with AJ, that guy is a librarium of 40k knowledge.
Ref the 2 missing legions
It’s mentioned in some of the Heresy stories that the Thousand Sons weren’t the first legion that the Space Wolves were sent after and Russ’ blade has “tasted Primarch blood” in the past, and the Ultramarines are by far the largest legion as they are alleged to have absorbed the remains of one of the lost legions.
In fairness, that could be referring to the fight between Russ and Angron where they beat ten shades of crap out of each other.
Yeah that was heavily hinted at in false gods, or at least that is how it seemed to me when I read that bit.
Yeah, I remember reading that too.
I think it was in the Prospero Burns novel that they have been said to have fought other legions before, and that being sent in to destroy the Thousands Sons was not the first time they had done this. Bingo, bango, that alludes to them destroying the other two legions, at least to me it does. So that’s the (my) answer: they’re dead! The Space Wolves killed them dead! Wiped them out… dead! They no longer exist.
These are a couple of ex-parrots! Lol. 😀
IMHO, themed armies are so much more fun to play than generic armies that try to do a little bit of everything.
The Badab War The Fall of the Astral Claws by Fly Lords of Terra on Bell of Lost Souls (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2009/08/play-aid-badab-war.html or https://app.box.com/shared/r0vrvf0nug) is what go me into 40k with the Minotaurs. I love the hobby/conversion prospects and the story as well.
i heard the carcharodons were in seacargo looking for a bigger boat…
So basically the Eldar were so highly sexed they got the universe pregnant?
Bunch of pointy-eared degenerates.
Eldar were 80s hair metal turned up to 11. After fall they went emo.
Badab War is probably one of the best things to come out of FW next to the heresy books.
Agreed! They’re really beautiful things, and the back story is really interesting. It’s smaller than the Horus Heresy, so you feel you can get a handle on it – while there’s still plenty of space for doing your own thing if you want.
If I hadn’t got sidetracked by the Heresy, I’d be building all kinds of units and forces for the Badab War. I may still do a few units for it, if only to use up the modern, post-heresy bits of kits I’m not using in my Heresy armies!
I really do think they must be the remnants of the loyalist night lords, you take a look at how they are and nothing else quiet fits as well. It makes sense to me that not everyone would have fallen.
The following has a fair bit of info on the Maelstrom Zone.

That was a good video, only one mention for my Star Phantoms!! Who btw were given the Badab System for their efforts! Also, Capt Androcles of the Star Phantoms is the marine who mortally wounded Huron just before his escape. Huron now relies on the favour of the chaos gods to keep him alive 🙂
from what I understand you have got he elder facts slightly wrong. The elder we know now as craftworld elder are the ones that turned their back on the deborchery of the elder and left to deeper space when the elder fell they were the only ones out of the way apart from the dark elder we know being at comoraghe which were all to far from the birth of slaneesh. the true elder race are the dark elder which were almost extinct.
I think that was the exodites (who are now kind of like farmers with dinosaurs). The craftworlds were more travelling away from the core worlds (crone worlds) when the fall occurred and hence managed to escape & reform.
The Carcharodon flag ship sounds like a pocket battleship speed of a cruiser but with battleship sized weapons nice informative vid guys.
Apparently, Horus Heresy, book 3 from Forge World, which I have not read, has information on a certain company or section of Ravenguard. They were possibly exiled, along with the former Lord of the Legion Lord Arkhas Fal who ran things for 30 years before Corax was reunited and put in command of the Legion. I think the Terran Legionnaires had a reputation for being more ferocious and had a sort of Maouri thing going on.
This is why some Heresy era Ravenguard artwork and models have designs matching Carcharodons iconography:

Huh, that’s really cool!
I suppose like much else in 40K, we’ll never know – but I like it that way. I like the theories and the hints – and the fact that they leave it open so you can pick the answer that best matches your interests.
This is what a Carcharodon terminator has with said tribal markings.

Also, the Raven Guard, before receiving this title and reuniting with Corax, had the standard grey terran Legion armour from the unificaiton era, which sort of matches the Carcharodons:

The story of the Eldar is that over the millenia they – basically the dominant power in the galaxy with no serious oposition – gradually became more and more self-absorbed, selfish, decadent and corrupt. Being a highly psychic race, this created a pool of energy which built and built until it eventually ‘woke up’ and became the God Slaanesh. At Slaanesh’s birth, the psychic shockwave anihilated most Eldar and their spirits were all consumed by him/her/it, in the process ripping the universe open and creating the Eye of Terra. (And which in doing so I think blew out the warp… Read more »
Well now that was really interesting! AJ has such an immense knowledge of 40k.
I think that the carcharodons are one of the lost legions as they have the shark like traits obviously inherited from each marines gene seed which in turn came from a primarch, even successor chapters maintain a little part of there parent chapters characteristics or traits and as theres no one else so far with these shark like features of any kind it stands to reason there a legion with a primarch not just a successor of someone else.
‘Penitent’ Crusade is the word AJ keeps reaching for…
