River Horse Show Off Special Weapons Coming To Terminator Genisys
December 9, 2015 by brennon
River Horse have sent through some images of upcoming miniatures for the Terminator Genisys game. See what you think of the kit that they're bringing to the battlefield in an effort to stop the machines from taking over...
First up we have the Dog Handler above who is trying to restrain a snarling hound who has no doubt found out that there is a machine amidst your force. I think this is a characterful model that would be useful in scenario based games where you might not know where the Terminators are striking from.
Following on from that we also have some troopers from the Resistance armed with Missile Launchers, HMGs and also a Mortar for when you need to blast things to smithereens.
It's neat to see that they have developed the miniatures range beyond the original plastic set and that if you're playing the game then you can add to their fighting potential. We're still milling over ideas for how we'd make a destroyed Earth tabletop to play Terminator Genisys over.
What do you think of the new additions?

Faces seem off on these
I don’t know why but theres just something “wrong” to me about the whole range.
I should be throwing money at my ipad with every release but instead I’m just thinking meh….
Awesome models got very nearly every model they have produced the resin models are the best I have seen from anywhere
I’ll liking the expansions
I bought the basic set a few weeks ago reduced in a sale, and totally fell in love with it. It’s an elegant rules system that’s very fun to play. I played a short solo game last night to try out a set of AI rules for the Terminators that’s available from River Horse’s website.

The terminator figures including the resins are not impressive at all. The details are soft and washed out. Very disappointing for such a stellar IP. I was looking forward to this game but the minis became very low priority purchases after I saw them and only plan on buying them cause they are the only Way to get my hands on some endos. Go look at some Kingdom Death resin figs to see what crisp details look like.
I can only agree with Warwolf and some of the others, I do not like to decry a series of models and have not seen any in real time, however these figures are amongst some of the worst for crispness in world where we purchase on what we see over the interweb thingy. And by the looks of these I will be staying clear which is a shame because before I saw these I was becoming tempted. It may have been better to wait than go with these if these are not the finished item.
Good Hunting

Thanks for the feedback Warwolf, we do find that people often like the figures more when they see them in the flesh, the ‘soft and washed out’ look in the pictures may just be due to my poor ability with a camera and lighting set up.
Why don’t you and ChrisG PM me your address and I will send you both one of our resin figures to see up close and personal.
