Following on from the work on transfers we then get to the metallic aspects of the Panther and start tweaking the overall look of the tank with washes too.

For ‘weathering’ decals I usually stick them on the window – depending on how bright it is!

I do like the primer colour still inside the turret add-on. Nice touch. Also, never used the ‘gloss varnish’ thing either…

@unclejimmy i tend to gently scuff them with a sharp blade after the decal fix has gone off, once its dried they are effectivly bonded to the paint so can withstand the abuse.

As for gloss before wash, id say its up there with agrax earthshade as an instant talent technique, the instant effect of it reminds me of making hidden pictures with a white crayon as a child….

I’ve experimented with gloss varnish & wash on a Battletech figure and it works pretty well at that scale too.
