Mantic Team Up With Customeeple On Kings Of War Terrain
November 27, 2015 by brennon
Mantic Games have been working with Customeeple to create a range of different terrain for use in Kings Of War. See what you think of their Mine and Tavern...
The first of these buildings, seen above, is the Dwarf Mine which is a very important part of any settlement in the mountains. This could also be the start of something interesting where try and hold off Orcs from the entrance to the Mine.
Secondly we have one of the other more important buildings in a Dwarf settlement, the Tavern. There is nothing better than relaxing after a hard days work with a cool ale.
I think the finish on these are great and they are generic enough to fit into all manner of different worlds if you so desired.
Last but not least we have the means for you to rank up your units onto proper scenic bases. The Unit Trays are good for above ground buildings and otherwise hidden mining tunnels too.
Are these going to be making an appearance on your gaming table or are you more used to making your own custom terrain?
Let us know in the comments below!

Looks cool, but **** mantic. Seriously.
How come? Is it kickstarter related? Not trying to start anything, just curious 🙂
Put simply, yes. DS has been handled poorly to say the least.
“Looks cool”, but you are not happy? Confusing…
As a Kickstarter backer of Dungeon Saga I’m curious on why you think it’s been handled poorly? I haven’t received mine yet but it should be here any day. There are also a lot of happy folks with the product and how things were handled. I have no issues with Mantic and how things were done. One of the books had several errors in it, from what I understand, but Mantic has offered to send a new corrected book for I believe $4 USD which I’m fine with compared to everything else that was included in the Kickstarter.
Several errors, missing stuff and it’s not what we were promised. Tbh whats pissing me off the most is lack of communication. I haven’t recieved mine yet, but has uk shipping finished? Aus are starting to recieve theirs US haven’t yet, but none of this info is forthcoming. It’s over a week since the last update and it was a week before anyone bothered to reply to the complaints about the journal. We were told in the last update that shipping was 80% complete, but considering that people have not recieved theirs maths disagrees. They have been accused of bait… Read more »
I only received my stuff a couple of days ago, but before that I was reading comments from the vocal minority (“vocal”? More like “incandescent with rage”!).
So, I get my huge box opened up and it’s awesome.
Sure, I’m going to have to send an email off to Mantic for the odd item and, yes, it would be nice to have the reprinted AC, but even taking that into account… holy moley… this is going to be so much fun!
I’m not trying to stir the pot but I’ll say this, I get that you’re not happy with how the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter was handled. So far my experience has been different so we’ll just leave it at that. People have different experiences, things happen to some folks that others don’t have to deal with, and some people are more tolerant and understanding than others (not saying you’re not tolerant by the way). My question is this, why make the comment “Looks cool, but **** mantic. Seriously.” on a Kings of War post? Yes I get they are both done… Read more »
care to elaborate?
??
Warhammer is dead get over it.
His comments are nothing to do with Warhammer, he thinks the above product is cool but it sounds like he’s not happy with Mantic due to a badly managed Dungeon Saga kickstarter. At least that’s my interpretation.
caveat emptor, want a retail experience/protection buy it when its in shops
looks good at a reasonable price.
They look kinda cool. Already have some pretty sweet terrain for fantasy games though. I’ll be skipping this one
I like them. I do need some dwarf terrain for KoW. Actually I think they will fit rather nicely with the dwarf terrain from Scibor.
hmmm no. I don’t like it. It looks like a toy, not a model.
I think that’s all in the painting, really.
Not bad for MDF terrain. The objective set looks real nice.
Not a fan. I’m not sure if it’s the colour scheme or the style but it just doesn’t look dwarven to me. The second building has a steampunk feel to it.
I’ll reserve judgement until I can see some of the other factions’ bases.
What’s weird to me was that I was thinking of producing a KOW a terrain piece that was basically a mine entrance and now we have a official one. As somebody else has already stated it does look a bit like a child’s toy so an idea would be to custom it and make it a bit more adult…
also is there any interior detail?
Being a NeW product I don’t think it makes much sense to raise the price doing an interior that you can’t play anyway.
true, but some hidden extras can be cool……
I’m not overly impressed by the buildings. They look roughly scratch built.
I think that’s the impression I’m getting too. It looks like something you’d carve out of foam at home.
Looks good to me but wonder if that’s how it looks out of the box or if the edges have been touched up or painted? Thinking of the ‘penning’ done to the card battle systems terrain that makes it go from great to AMAZING.
Looks rather basic, but for the price you get what you pay for and I’d be fine with that. The moving tray is the best of the lot and can be used for making floor tiles for all sorts of games.
Typically, mine shafts start at the bottom of a hill and have a slight upward grade as you tunnel in. If humans are smart enough to design their tunnels so gravity can help move the carts back out, I guarantee dwarves are smart enough to do it too. I would want to cut off the wings at the back and use some foam insulation to build up a hill behind the tunnel, with some bark to make a cliff face texture perhaps, and repurpose the triangular scrap as retaining walls to blend everything.
Yeah, but unlike Humans, Dwarves aren’t soft and lazy. 😛
Bland square boxes at a middle of the road price. Yawn.
The unit trays actually look nicer than the buildings imo.
This is the best dwarf terrain I’ve ever seen, and it’s consistent with the Mantic dwarf aesthetics… Big doors, huge squares and octogons, runes… Looks very cool to me. Seriously, when have you ever seen dwarf-type terrain anyway ? We don’t get that very often. And for that price, I’d be grateful, too. You may not like the shiny paint-job, but either way, painting is up to you. I’ll grant that Mantic has flaws (odd release management, over-reliance on crowdfunding that’s actually just pre-sale, not being nice to shops, odd choices, overall poor casting except for specific models, affordability over… Read more »
The style and paint job is very Warhammer Online, check out some of the dwarf architecture and colours used from the now deceased MMO.

Oh I like this, I like this alot. When’s the release date?
Just re-looked at the movement trays… bit misleading! its 10cm x 4cm for £2.99, not what is pictured. I thought that was a bit good value!
