Dropfleet Commander Campaign Unlocks Plastic PHR Fleet
November 2, 2015 by brennon
Hawk Wargames have been taken aback by the volume of support that they have been getting for Dropfleet Commander and that means that while they have lain out a series of Stretch Goals they haven't had the time to keep up with demand for previews. With that in mind they have now unlocked the Post-Human Republic fleet!
....BUT, they don't have any previews of them just yet. Instead you will have to do with some better images of the UCM Atlantis Class Battlecruiser that is a Kickstarter Exclusive model. It really is an impressive beast and armed to the teeth.
Here is a comprehensive list of what has been unlocked...
- Unlocked: £40k - Goal Reached
- Unlocked: £70k - Race Pins (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £100k - Hostile Map Set (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £110k - Faction dice (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £130k - SHALTARI PLASTIC STARTER FLEET UNLOCKS (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £140k - Acrylic Tokens (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £150k - High Rank Backers - 1 Free Scourge Frigate Sprue (makes 4 Frigates)
- Unlocked: £190k - Alien Map Set (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £195k - Art Print 2 (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £200k - High Rank Backers - 1 Free UCM Frigate Sprue (makes 4 Frigates)
- Unlocked: £210k - PHR PLASTIC STARTER FLEET (Bolt-on)
- Unlocked: £230k - Art Print 3 (Bolt-on)
...and then what is coming up next.
- £240k - Nocturnal Map Set (Bolt-on)
- £250k - Kickstarter Exclusive Paper Radar Map (Bolt-on)
- --- Other Stretch goals will be added ----
- £300k - High Rank Backers - 1 Free Shaltari Frigate Sprue (makes 4 Frigates)
- --- Other Stretch goals will be added ----
- £350k - High Rank Backers - 1 Free PHR Frigate Sprue (makes 4 Frigates)
As you can see Hawk are playing catch-up a bit but it doesn't seem to have stopped people supporting the project. The good will that Hawk have created with Dropzone Commander is paying off.
What pledge did you go for?

I pledged, only the £45 one but it still looks like you get a lot of stuff and free stuff too! Sorry Horus heresy, you’ll have to wait.
PHR fleet? I’m at least 2x as interested in Dropfleet as I was before I saw this update.
Dont expect any renders for awhile though, Hawk werent expecting PHR to unlock until week 3. Not day 3!
I quite like the looks of the UCM fleet, but so does everyone. The Scourge and Shaltari don’t particularly appeal to me though. If the PHR look good I may go for them.
I kinda felt the same about the Dropzone Commander factions too. The Scourge dropships always struck me as silly looking, and the Shaltari as trying too hard to look unconventional, but totally missing the mark.
OMG, how cool is that?
Same here the scourge ruins it for me,
i think they look like some weird fish that belongs in an aquarium. Also too many bolt ons and very little free add ons, going to pass on this one .
There’s nothing quite like greed, is there? KS isn’t a platform for you to get free stuff, its to get a product produced. More people should remember that.
Wasn’t being greedy, I acknowledge helping a product get produced is the aim but with using my hard earned cash and usually waiting more than a year for any kickstarter I’ve backed to get the product, I would hope that by way of thanks the producers that you help set up and achieve there goals will give some extra content as a thank you. If not then I will just wait for it to hit the shops, Im not a charity .
Pledged
+1 on the scourge & shaltari. The UCM are really really good looking models but the rest are more on low end of the ordinary scale. Rules look interesting tough.
I feel the opposite. I really like the Scourge ships but the UCM are a bit too generic for my liking. Each to their own!
Sounds like I’m getting a UCM and PHR fleet!
When I first heard about Dropfleet Commander I was really excited by the prospect but having backed the Kickstarter at £45 I’m not terribly bowled over by everything I’ve seen. It mostly looks like it’s there to pre-order the 2 player starter set and the rest seems a little under developed.
The Kickstarter is to get the upfront cash to get things into plastic as soon as possible instead of doing things the long way round like Dropzone Commander, where you have expensive resin sets for a year before you get the plastic ones. Hawk Wargames have been pretty up-front in saying all of this in addition to stating they’d have taken this route for Dropzone Commander had KS been such a thing back then. With regards to this being “under-developed”, I think it’s just Hawk Wargames being so surprised with regards to the rapid success of the KS itself, in… Read more »
^^ Very much this. Hawk went into this with a specific set of products in mind and only those products. They are a small company with basically one CAD designer and one 2D artist trying to build up this new game from scratch while also keeping the new content coming for Dropzone. They really can’t go crazy promising to make a dozen additional designs because the kickstart is going better than hoped because they know they wouldn’t be able to deliver. Instead from day 1 they have been clear that this kickstarter will be a limited offering that they are… Read more »
I fully agree with you on this, the Kickstarter had a goal in mind and we did blow though it faster that they did dare hope for. I hope it will make them able to find a 2nd CAD designer sooner than planed
Take a look at the new PHR CAD designs on the kickstarter…amazing stuff!
