Want to Ruin Your Day? Try the Ruins of Osgilliath!

OK so maybe not the best of titles? Anyway my bad humour aside, I take a look at this piece of Lord of the Rings scenery and see just how good it really is out of the box. I was surprised to see the sheer density of the parts. It feels very sturdy and if properly painted and varnished it should last you a lifetime of gaming (that includes the moments where you lost so bad that stuff take to the sky on it's way to the box!) The quality overall is good and I think a lot of you budding scenery painters could have a lot of fun looking up the movies to get your colouration and weathering perfect!

We have one of these sets in the office. I was blown away by the quality of it when we got it. far better than expected. Thumbs up GW.
I was on the fence about this product, but now I feel like I should definitely get it–eventually. Thank you for the video, and I personally would love to see more LotR content anytime.
I imagine lots of people who don’t play LoTR would still buy this to use in WFB and similar fantasy games. It really does look lovely.

I’ve got this and its certainly a quality piece of kit, and reasonably priced to for a GW product.
When this kit came out I picked up a few boxes, and it is a really nice set. One word of note though, this box is not particularly modular. Conversions can be done, but for the most part the walls and joins will need some filler and maybe even some plasticard to get a good finish if you want some variety in you scenery.
This seems like a very versatile kit would work for most of the GW range. I can see this work for 40k as well.
I’ve been looking at this kit for some time now. I am wanting to make some terrain for my gaming board and think this would look good for any system. Is gareth right in saying that too combine a couple boxes of these would require extra work like plastic card etc?

Are the statues and archways taller than 40k miniatures… I was thinking about getting it but wasn’t sure of the size.

One thing that I would mention is that the wooden part is designed specifically to hold a company of WotR models. I imagine it’d balacne a movement tray of about 10 Warhammer models and easily hold several 40k ones. Also, the archways are designed so that mounted models (or Terminators, lol) are able to fir through, wich is great news.
