New Tau Commander & Codex Coming Soon

The Tau are taking over Warhammer 40,000 over the next few weeks. While this weekend welcomes the Breacher Fire Warriors and the Tidewall Rampart Defences the coming weeks also feature a new Tau Commander and Codex...

The new Tau Commander suit which you can see HERE is suited and booted within a Coldstar Battlesuit. This makes the Commander into a Flying Monstrous Creature (dangerous!) and is laden with all manner of interesting weapon options.

The Commander also gets a rather good stat-line with a reasonable Weapon Skill of 4 and a Strength of 5 to help match the always impressive Ballistic Skill of 5 too. It will be up to you to then tweak and change your Coldstar suit to fit your own needs.

I do like that new Commander. So far Tau releases have looked great and this one is no exception to that.

Now that the Coldstar suit upgrade changes the Commander’s unit type to Flying Monstrous Creature, this is guy is basically Iron Tau…

I wonder what a High Output Burst Cannon is? A burst cannon with a higher rate of fire seems the most likely answer, but a look at the stats would be nice.

I like that everything is going the way of plastic. Soon you could do kitbashes for almost everything in 40k with greater ease.

The commander doesn’t totally blow me away, but does look very good. And it will be especially nice to have a decent battlesuit commander model in plastic. I’m looking forward to seeing more of it.

Haha! 😀 Now this should be interesting! A Tau Commander that doubles as a flyer. 😀 I wonder if he can have Bodyguards with him, Darth Vader Trench Run Style.
