Gale Force Nine Partnering With BBC For Doctor Who Board Game
October 15, 2015 by brennon
Gale Force Nine are jumping into the big blue box with Doctor Who for a new board game according to their latest press release. The game, Doctor Who: Time Of The Daleks, could well be the next of their big licensed game hits...
"We are very excited to be able to immerse ourselves into this iconic material and make the game for a show that has shaped generations of viewers,” said John-Paul Brisigotti, CEO of the Battlefront Group. “Having a serious love of the property is how we make our games, and the Whovians in our design teams are creating something truly unique with this new series."
Gale Force Nine and Battlefront have done some great work on previous projects with the likes of Firefly, Sons Of Anarchy, Spartacus, Homeland and WWE being massive hits. With a property as rich as Doctor Who in their hands let's hope they do something equally inventive.
"The game that is bigger on the inside. Ever wanted to be the Doctor? Travel in time and space, meet companions and have adventures? In Doctor Who Time of the Daleks you do just that, every player picks a Doctor and tries to thwart the Daleks master plan of erasing the Doctor from history. Do you have what it takes to fill a TimeLord’s Shoes?"
There is word that you'll be controlling Doctors from the classic TV series and the modern one. This could also spread out into a series of games instead of just one!

This could be promising, especially if they had Classic Who. =)
Well, as long as they manage to fit more inside the box by making it bigger on the inside I’m all game. I shamelessly want it for the dalek figures and classic doctors, if there are any figures.
You can get some now from black Tree Design.
So Gale force 9 for board games, and Warlord for miniatures, wonder how they are going to prevent one stepping on the others license agreement, probably no miniatures in the board game, or things like busts for miniatures
sounds good.
That does sound very good.
