Battlefoam Infinity Bag Available from Today!
October 21, 2011 by beerogre
That's right guys, the Infinity ALPHA bag from Battle Foam, with the exclusive Yuan-Yuan model... is available NOW!
The Yuan-Yuan model depicts the version of the Yuan Yuan lucky enough to roll heavy protection (+4 ARM) on the Booty table, making him the equivalent of Heavy Infantry, while maintaining his warband designation... very cool!
The functionality of both bags looks great, and the exclusive model is just icing on this cake. Looking forward to this fall!
I’m a huge fan of Infinity and a massive fan of my Battlefoam bags… …so why am I not a fan of a Battlefoam exclusive mini? I like the miniature but I hate loathe and detest limited edition miniatures that are attached to other products. I just feel its unfair on certain people and hobbyists who come to things a little later. Will I get the Alpha Bag? Yeah for sure, because I’m running out of carrying options for my Infinity mini’s quite rapidly, so no doubt I’ll get the miniature. But that just makes me feel a little sad… Read more »
Who else was watching this video waiting for him to let some classified Corvus Belli information slip?
I think its already slipped, theres a third ‘missions’ book on the way in the autumn!!! Other than that its anybody’s guess… I erm… guess.
About time. For me, Infinity really struggles without missions. If it’s just “kill the other side” then why step out of cover so you can get AROd to bits?
Missions/scenarios/whateveryouwanttocallthem will be most welcome.
Patience and mission book will be with us.
most games play better with missions vs kill the other side
Infinity mission book sounds good
So I hear, and that will be great. It will also be at least 5 years after the release of the game and the third volume of rules. Why so long?
I have yet so see in person Battlefoam bags, but this video really shows its quality. Very well thought out design I might add.
But what was the big block of foam? Do I just cut the foam to the shape I need or is the foam got cuts in it and all I do is pull out the foam I don’t need?
Its pick and pluck foam. The foam will be cut into loads of tiny little squares and you can pluck some of them out to make pretty much any shape you like as long as it fits into squares of course 😆 its pretty cool stuff and has been a staple of the hobby bag for many a year. Great for irregular shaped mini’s.
KR multicases have the same thing with their “pick and pluck” foam. It’s very, very useful whatever you play as nearly every game has a bunch of figures about the same size and then the odd one that just doesn’t fit in with the rest. Pluck foam enables you to accommodate these whether they’re dreadnoughts and vehicles or standard bearers and heroes. It’s one of those beautifully simple ideas that is just genius. I don’t know about battlefoam, but KR even do pick and pluck with different types of pre-cuts to give you even more flexibility. Just out of curiosity,… Read more »
As per usual, laser-cut foam is quite old packing technology… It’s just been reappropriated in a brilliant way by a number of people. I hear some have slightly different engineering, and I also hear Battlefoam’s are patented, but I couldn’t swear it.
BoW Romain
anyone know the price of the big bag. i DO WANT!
It will be similar to the malifaux bags.
Battlefoam are great manufactures, and their products never disappoint! I had the pleasure to chat for a bit with Romeo at Lock & Load about their bags, design philosophy, Dystopian Wars, and a ton of other stuff, and he’s a great guy: interested and enthusiastic about the hobby, and not just a salesman trying to turn a bob (buck, quid, whatever). This love of the hobby really comes through, and is what originally sold me on BF. After getting some BF products, their quality has only reinforced my appreciation for their business and design aesthetic. Cheers, guys! Keep up the… Read more »
It’s worth noting guys that the miniature actually shown next to the bag is not the Yuan Yuan, that’s a Cutter. The model it’s self has not been shown yet, but CB’s sculptors are insanely good at transferring concept art into the physical model.
That being said, I am also NOT a fan of limited edition models being attached to 3rd party products. “By this brand new frig and get a rare collectible coin” is never a good approach for anymore except those making money.
I have to disagree with those complaining about the first few bags coming with a Limited Edition model. If it was something that the company was doing regularly and as a result there was a whole range of limited models that noone could get a few months down the line then I would agree but this is a one off. I’m sure there are even people who will look at it the other way, not that you get a free special miniature with the bag but that you get a free good quality bag with the limited edition model you… Read more »
Limited Edition figures are stupid IMO
A different sculpt limited edition is ok as long as both look good- i can rant re Celia for Anime Tactics at this point
Nice touch for bag order but complete collection geeks will nash teeth
Arg. I bought a battlefoam bag already this year and can’t afford one of these right now 🙁
Seeing this again just reminds me of how good they look and function.
getting my first battlefoam bag for crimbo, wifey is getting me a pack go, but this is a close second
Oh yea, completely forgot I pre-ordered one of these.
Now I wont have to worry when a random box shows up to my door. Woot!
