Battle Systems Take You On A Tour Of The City Block
September 14, 2015 by brennon
Battle Systems are going to be launching their Kickstarter for a range of Post-Apocalyptic terrain very soon and they thought it was a neat idea to show off the main pledge for the campaign, the City Block Bundle...
You get some really awesome houses and shops in this set include the added height bought to you by the flat which you can see in the middle. I would imagine that this even comes with the various bits of scenery you see here too which would be great.
As they mentioned on social media the City Block can be combined with others to create a whole city scape if you so wished. I'd love to do something where you're trying to escape from one side of the city to the other in a massive 'Zombie Run' style event.
What would you use this terrain for?

Will this be paper?
High quality pre-punched card, that just slots together, plastic clips are then used to combine walls and floors.
This is a cardboard (hardboard) product.
Their Sci-fi and Fantasy sets are great and very durable. If you google them there is a video of Colin (creator) using old Heavy metal miniatures on their stuff without bending etc.
I’ve used their sci-fi set for over a year on a frequent basis, and no damages so far.
I believe it’s cardboard like their previous sets. I believe there’s some BoW vids that show the other sets.
looks good would fit in with teen Yankee well I think.
Batman/Supers no doubt!
Combined with a sewers set…
Sewers were so last KS, Coming to retail November 😉
Batman and 7TV for me 🙂
The coloured in windows ruin it for me.
I’d rather the windows were blank so I could replace with clear styrene or leave and still see models inside a building.
But If they do a furniture only pledge I’ll be all over that.
You could always cut out the windows
I could always just build the entire building out of card, foamboard etc…… 🙂 If I’m paying for scenery I want it to tick all the boxes for me. The styrene window replacement would be a pipe dream but something easily done if the windows are a few set shapes. If the windows were pre punched I could happily use it out of the box and add windows piece by piece. Cutting out all those windows just makes me cringe thinking about it. Look at all of them! For me the best part of having dense scenery like this is… Read more »
I think if you removed the windows, to keep consistency you’d also have to remove the large glass windows, this would remove all the strength in some of the walls, and the entire thing would collapse in on itself.
I was involved as a backer for the sci fi kickstarter and the card stock is not good. My set ended up ripped to bits trying to put it together and having to use super glue to reinforce the card. I also watched all the how to build videos and took my time with it but I still ended up with doors and wall ripped and bent. A waste of money and I was left dissapointed.
That’s a shame. Happily I had a completely different experience. I’ve been on the sci-fi and dungeon KS. I’ve put together loads of this stuff and it’s fab – easy (imho) to put together and hard wearing as long as it doesn’t get wet. They learned a few lessons with the sci-fi stuff so the dungeon cardboard is heavier and the slots are more accurate, so things were much easier second time around.
Hi im used to building from scratch , including dungeon furniture and various models and as I said I watched all the tutorials on how to put the sci fi Set together. My problem was my card print kept tearing from the card no matter how careful I was taking out of the sprue, then the card would bend and break even after having to cut extra out of the slots. It was a moddelers nightmare .
Fuh…fuh…fuff.. Fallout! Tabletop!
I cannot wait to back this one!
All my ZombieTV dreams are now going to be realised! We have played prequal games set in WW2, but now is the time! I’ll have to go and have a prowl. She is going to kill me.
With terrain like this I wonder why we don’t have an X-Com skirmish game.
