HiTech’s Tyr Ulvar Get’s Off His Wolf And Walks
July 15, 2011 by dracs
A few days ago we covered the release of HiTech's Viking Lord Tyr Ulvar Stormbringer, their new sci-fi character mounted on a wolf. Well now HiTech have released Tyr on foot as well, for those times when the Wolf just can't quite manage.
Got to say I really don't like this guy. The pose is static, his head is tiny in proportion to his body and especially in proportion to his shoulder pads. HiTech have done alot of good stuff in the past but I'm afraid this one just does not live up to the standard you'd expect from them.
What do you guys think? Am I being too harsh? Would any of you be tempted to buy this guy? Leave us a comment below.
He’s just as he was on his wolf… A static ken doll in a cumbersome armor. A real disappointment.

jupp first time I could agree with you on these miniatures, this one looks static and lame and the hammer is just way over the top
i like the armour, makes me think pre heresy and would look wicked with a good hi-light / low-light paint job, but the pose, simple put,, SUCKS.
the right arm looks out of place, unnatural in some way.
the hammer is,, erm,, very,, well,, just VERY bad
Would do well more as a fantasy knight/warrior than a sci-fi one – I don’t really like the pose either.
Its alright… a few minor tweeks and it could be a very nice piece:
1. Get rid of the hammer spikes, they ruin the entire model
2. Reduce the number of ridges on the armour plates, it looks to crowded and messy, less is more.
3. Reduce the size of the hammer head
4. Rotate the right arm outward to give it a bit more of a dynamic pose.
Although it has its flaws, I do really like some parts of the model especially the head, the fur, the added armour on the shield arm and the decorative plate above the head.
is thats his weapon , its awful
