The First New Dad’s Army Teaser Trailer Hits The Internet
August 18, 2015 by brennon
The new Dad's Army, coming next year, has now got its first trailer and it looks rather charming already. You can see the teaser above which reveals all the favourite characters - all of which seem very close to their original counterparts.
Are you looking forward to this new take on an old British classic? I do hope that this is going to be a worthwhile watch as it would be a shame to have Dad's Army spoiled. Hopefully with the addition of famous younger actors in the line-up it could draw in a new audience too.
What do you think?

I loved Dad’s Army, good old fashioned relatively clean humor so i am looking forward to seeing this.
I do love a bit of dad’s arm, and had some concern about this. Only a short trailer but looks pretty harmless and well cast at least.
I’m looking forward to this movie. 🙂
Brilliant cast. Looking forward to this.
I’ve seen the trailer last week and was completely surprised…
Man I am so not informed in terms of big screen movies!
Brilliant cast, looks very promising and I can’t wait to see it 😎
1944..on the brink of defeat?!
Well..I think the outcome of the war was somewhat foreseeable by then but hey.. 😉
The wife and I love all the people in this cast. We will definitely check this out.
1944 I think they have got the wrong year and it is this sort of thing that will annoy people. 1944 we were winning come get it right.
Still I will be watching it
It’s a great cast so it will be given the best possible chance. Enjoyed the trailer, it felt like they have really tried to do the original justice.
I discovered Dad’s Army on Youtube and enjoyed it. I kind of wanted the trailer to give the every platoon member a brief introduction and dialogue.
Probably I won’t get this movie in the States. A cast of all aged white guys? Where’s the diversity? Not in Hollywood!
I’m almost 100% certain they will squeeze in some “diversity” somewhere.
Well they have a woman in it.
Pikes mum? Played by Angelina Jolie?
Doesn’t look like it will be Pikes Mum but we do get to see the beauty of the Welsh, Catherine Zeta-Jones. @rfernandz2001 I am there with you hoping that this does come to the USA. Being on the road so much I have been listening to the Audible versions of the BBC Radio program makes the time fly by.
@ghent99 I fibbed a bit, I first heard a BBC radio episode, then searched Youtube for the television show.
Did James Beck (Walker) die during the series? I missed what he brought to the group when he disappeared from the show.
The only complaint I have about Dad’s Army is the complaint that I have about any scripted drama: The quality declined when the characters became caricatures.
…hmmmmm. You shouldn’t fiddle with classics.
looks good from the clip.
O M G I can not w8 4 this 1 to come out 🙂
Please, please don’t suck.
Dont tell him your name, Pike!
It looks like they may have done a good job, but they will never be able to match the original. They dont like it up ’em see!
I’ll be giving it a watch. There are some great actors in there, Toby jones is an especially good character actor.
There will always be those who say it will never be as good as the original (and they may yet be proved right) but I’ll be approaching it with an open mind!
Looks interesting. I hope it is as good as the original. Remakes often fall short.
