Beautiful & Functional Tables From Carolina Game Tables
August 14, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
Gamers and puzzle enthusiasts will love the look and function of the stunning tables on Kickstarter with the Carolina Game Tables project.
These tables function perfectly in every way you need a table. They look beautiful and will happily make a lovely place for your family and friends to gather around for a meal - and in one simple lift of the table top, your table is transformed into the perfect gaming place!
Under the beautiful table top, you'll find a cloth covered, 3" recessed, 32" x 50" gaming space. You can not only conveniently store your game within the table, you can leave it to return to it at a later time! This table totally caters to puzzle fans (like myself) as well. Coming from a person who is known to commandeer the dining room table for a jigsaw puzzle - this is genius!
No more having to race to finish the puzzle, or worse yet, having to tear it down to make room for dinner.
These tables are 4' x 6' and can seat up to 6 people quite comfortably. You can order the table and matching chairs through this Kickstarter and not only get a beautiful furniture set, but support a family owned business of three generations.Carolina Game Tables would love to bring your family and friends together around one of these beautiful tables.
What do you think of these clever and classy gaming tables?

Still waiting for someone in Europe (or better yet, my own country) to do this…
Yup – my mate was talking about this yesterday in the pub and he said it might just be cheaper for Europeans to get a carpenter to make one for you.
Wouldn’t have the finish of one of these or a Geek Chic table but could still be as functional.
For those of us on this side of the pond, It might be worth looking at Geeknson, based in Evesham in the UK. Their tables are mostly aimed at the board game community but might be worth a look.
Maybe we need to start an import / export business
Looks beautiful… and expensive.
That central sunken portion seems a bit inconvenient tbh. I’m going with flat 5′ x 5′ tables with side drawers that pull out (think pull-out cutting board with two side pieces to contain dice), so people can leave their drinks, game sheets, etc. off the game surface. They will be a pedestal design on wheels, and the pedestal will have additional shelving for terrain, etc. Not sure whether I want to go “bar height” on the table yet. The game always looks better when you can look at it from a miniature perspective.
You can normally go to a furniture making shop (often make items on request, such as beds drawers etc) and get them done at a fraction of the price of these tbh. You would have to design it yourself, but that can be fun and ensure its totally 100% unique and made to the right size too! 🙂
@Cpauls1,
I agree the sunken bkt is a bit weird imho, certainly not for me, although it does make me wonder what games it would be useful for. 🙂
Hi gang, First off, thanks for the article and thanks for the interest! Secondly, to explain a bit, the goal here wasn’t to make a totally gaming focused table which would only ever really work for gaming. Nope, we wanted a table which could be used for gaming for the maybe 8 hours a week you might get together with friends in your home, but would be a beautiful dining room table for the other 95% of the week. And the recessed play area lets you leave an unfinished game and just put the top back on until you can… Read more »
I really like the looks of your table, it might not be for everyones taste, but may I ask if someone wanted a different set up and wood, would you be able to provide a custom made product, obviously at a greater price given the work etc. Or are you just fixed to this one model currently.
Good luck though.

Right now, we just have the one table design with the finish shown (the wood is mahogany and wouldn’t change even with a different finish). I will say we chose a mid-range finish with slight read undertones to be complementary to both lighter and darker finishes in addition to working with redder colors like a cherry or deep mahogany. We’re not really offering custom options as it would drive the prices and delivery times up on everything. If this Kickstarter goes well enough, we do have ideas for other designs, but again, we want to stay with a good product… Read more »
Beautiful tanle. I understand the desire for a part time game table, but every game I play is on a 4 x 4 or 4×6 board so the inset is just too small.
I have been looking for something like this in the UK for years
