Luftwaffe Field Division Squad Is Coming From Warlord Games

As the theater books for Bolt Action by Warlord Games are being released, so are troops to compliment them. With the release of Germany Strikes! there needed to be an expanded range of infantry for the German Army.
With the expansion of the front in Eastern Europe, the German High Command needed more manpower to stabilize the lines. And that is where the Luftwaffe Field Divisions come into play.
These poor fellows were pulled from their jobs in the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) and given rifles and put on the front lines to fight the enemy. Even with the lack of training these brave souls fought well and paid the ultimate price for it. They fought in the Russian front as well as Italy and Normandy.
In this set you get a ten man squad which includes:
- 1x NCO and two soldiers with SMGs
- 1x MG13 LMG team
- 2x Riflemen with Panzerfausts
- 3x riflemen
This set is up for pre-order with a release later this month. This will add a little more diversity to your German Army for your next combat action.

We have a different opinion of what fought well means… 😉
They were made up of excess ground and support personnel who all had basic infantry training. In 1943 they were absorbed into the Heer and reorganised as standard infantry divisions but retained a Luftwaffe suffix to distinguish them.
Overall their combat reputation was poor and were mainly used in rear echelon duties to free up better units.

I like the support Warlord is giving to these kinds of periphery units. They could have said “paint your soldiers in blue to distinguish them as Luftwaffe”.
I like these guys almost as much as Warlord’s U-boat crew. I threw my wallet at my monitor after I saw them. Too cool.

Yes… and the special camo jacket they have is rather salty!
If they were plastic I’d buy loads..
I prefer luftwaffles.
Really disappointed in this. I wanted plastics and a different weapons mix.
