Gangfight Games’ Savage Beasts Kickstarter Hits Soon
August 11, 2015 by brennon
The Skinwalkers are coming to Gangfight Games' Blackwater Gulch in the Savage Beasts Kickstarter which will be hitting very soon. You can see some of this new faction below which is made up of an array of different were-creatures...
Creatures that you might run into include Chupacabras, Jackalopes, and more. The sculpt below shows both the Scout and Warden which are both looking great and will be stretch goals during the campaign.
There is still two weeks before the Kickstarter hits but they will have both the models and an updated rulebook be the focus for the campaign.
Is this a warband you'd like to pick up?

Hmmm… this departs from the wonderful western world they created — not interested. I wish they would instead put their creativity into more and varied period figures, or maybe just townspeople.
The game rules haven’t really changed much, most players who prefer more of a real/historical setting just don’t use beasts 🙂 There are going to be many new human characters coming too, not just monsters… new Hired Guns plus there will eventually be reinforcements to all of the current gangs as well as a few new ones.
I would be all over a boxed set of townfolk. They add an interesting element to any period game, and are great as impromptu hostages, meat shields, or simply LOS blocks. And they add character if you’re going to roleplay within a town.
I agree, when playing Desperado we use town figures (from Reaper Minis) ie, black smith, undertaker, madame, bar tender, etc. What we do is have random “townie” cards shuffled ini the deck and when it comes up the person that went last can move them or shoot with one. Otherwise they are obsticles/cover/objectives/targets.
We’ll be adding new “generic” henchmen to the game, they are basically townsfolk that can join any gang but they will all have a weapon. I was also thinking about doing different packs of objectives that could have people in them. Either kidnap victims to be rescued or certain people that might have to be taken out to collect a bounty. So yeah normal townsfolk are definitely an option we could do some day, I doubt they would make it into this campaign though, but maybe in the future!
Good to know, and thank you for the immediate feedback :-). Townfolk are a bit of a problem: you can always see multiples, even if they’re painted differently.
That is just plain awesome
