Warlord Games Has Gone Heat Crazy With Free Plastic Sets
July 23, 2015 by stvitusdancern
You can tell it is summer and some people just can't take the heat. They start doing silly things like giving away plastic sets when you purchase a rulebook. Thought about getting into Bolt Action or even Hail Caesar, what about some Black Powder to relive the days of Napoleon?
Well, now you can with a little help from the fine people at Warlord Games and their summer promotion til the end of July. You can choose from Bolt Action, Black Powder, Pike & Shotte and lastly Hail Caesar. They also give you some nice choices for the plastic sets, there is even tanks to choose from in the Bolt Action collection!
They sure do make it hard for someone to maintain control of their budget. You might want to jump in on this before its over. I wonder if we turn up the heat in their offices what they would come up with next?
There is no reason not to grab a rulebook now, is there?

Will anyone recommend these systems (apart from BA)?
I would recomend black powder, it is as close to a universal way of playing pick up napoleonics as I ever known.^^!
Thanks Bojack 😉
Shut up Tod! Clean up your Sh*t! 😉
Why do i have to be Tod 🙁 To be fair it is pretty accurate lol
Would highly recommend Black Powder, one of my favourite rulesets and fits best with Napoleonics. As rules Pike & Shotte and HC are very similar to BP, it all comes down to wether you feel the system works for whatever period you with to play.
Unless you have a huge gaming table available, I would strongly recommend playing these with 15mm or smaller models. The games work best with larger forces, at least division per side in Napoleonics. Fitting that in 28mm to 6’x4′ table is not really feasible. As ranges go, simply using cm instead of inches work brilliantly.
In all fairness, barring Bolt Action they do all share a great deal of similarities, get into one, it’s not very difficult to get into the others, but would definitely agree with @rollsk1, fantastic way to get into Napoleonics 🙂
The whole week I wanted to buy into one of their systems, but really can’t decide between Hail Ceasar (Medieval& Crusades) Pike & Shotte or Black Powder. Its a so appealing and all these Plastic Kits make for a very friendly entry into army building.
I’ve got BP and HC as well as a few supliments for each (the supliments are totally unnecessary but if you are into a specific war they add some nice focus to the rule set). They are both excellent games and quite similar mechanically speaking. You can use both with any scale figures you want. Both have ranges of Perry, Warlord, and Victrix plastics and or metals. It really comes down to what time period you want to game in. It may help to check the warlord site and see the supliments available.
That’s a good deal.
Right on the heels of this, MM announced they now carrying Warlord’s entire line (no just BA). Might make for easy adds on after buying the rulebook direct.
