Quick & Easy Terrain With Terratiles: Coasts of Rivers Now On Kickstarter

There is a little project on Kickstarter right now for a terrain set that allows for quick and easy set up. Terratiles: Coasts & Rivers from Heath and Seth Robinson's Rainn Studios is the second offering from this dynamic duo with the first being Misty Moorlands.
These beautifully designed hex tiles allow you to set up a 6x4 foot playing area. While these are only flat printed pieces they do offer some foam pieces as a stretch goal to give different elevation and I bet with some of the creative geniuses we have as members they can come up with all kinds of options for adding dimension to these tiles.
One idea they the creators have for this project was to use the terrain in an RPG and only lay one tile down at a time and as the adventure party continues on they only get the next tile revealed when they have traveled beyond the borders of the current tile, a great way for DMs to keep their players on their toes and give them a real sense of adventuring. Oh, and the tiles are easy to store in their own box and placed on a shelf, so for all of you with limited space this might be an extra bonus.

clever idea
Looks like a Squad Leader experiment a friend and I tried out many years ago. Very nice.
Glad to see this has been funded and with 20 days to go they’re definitely on track to hit most of their stretch goals. Double-sided tiles is an especially good unlock and it’s the first one! RPG idea is cool but you could have some pretty cool ‘rolling battles’ with these as well.
Would make a lovely Mighty Empires campaign map.
It does remind of the mighty empires which is good to enlarge maps for the people who still has it. would be good for campaign maps for a tournament/ club type game’s
Thanks for the write up Gianna! I’m one of the creators, so please let me know if anyone has any questions about the Kickstarter. We have already hit a few of the stretch goals, so now we have double sided tiles that includes the dirt paths. The rocky shoreline is next up on the list. = )
