Kings Of War 2nd Edition Gets Foreword From Rick Priestley
July 7, 2015 by brennon
Kings of War 2nd Edition from Mantic Games has scooped a foreword from Rick Priestley himself of game design fame. You can read it below...
“When asked to write these few introductory words I hardly expected to find myself writing the foreword to what is undoubtedly now the most popular mass-battle fantasy game on the market!”
“Many converts have found themselves won over by a mixture of solid game play, straight-forward but elegant mechanics, and an approach to development that plainly puts the player first.”
“Well done especially to its creator and designer Alessio Cavatore. I have worked together with Alessio on many gaming projects over the years, both historical and fantasy, and have always appreciated his clear and focussed approach to game design, instinct for uncluttered rules, and – most of all – boundless and unquenchable enthusiasm for games and gaming.”
A nice little thumbs up from him then it seems. As we mentioned a few days ago the new rules for 2nd Edition will be free starting July 10th over on their website so keep an eye out.
What army are you playing in Kings of War?

Using Skaven army as twilight kin currently, and starting to.build basilean army
there is a rat man list being play tested you can download it off the forum right now, works quite nicely should be polished before they put it to print, so feedback welcome.
Yes, I’d heard about it. I’m hoping to use it for a game on Friday, depends if it suits my army or not, i don’t think it’s typical of Skaven, so the TK list suited it well.
I was playing at clash of kings last week so only just finished with 1st ed.
While I understand the impulse to try and take advantage of the demise of WFB, and it probably makes buisiness sense to try and bring in all the disaffected players from that system, I think KoW has always stood on its own. You shouldn’t get into KoW because WFB is gone, you should get into KoW because it’s a damn fine game in its own right.
And you don’t even have to “fix it” in the forums! Well done.
It’s good to hear from Rick Priestley himself about this.
i just started a Undead armey
