Even Ed Sheeran Got In On The Space Marine Release!
June 15, 2015 by brennon
This post comes a little out of the blue but thanks to a friend of mine from the community @drahima we got a glimpse of what Ed Sheeran gets up to backstage! Over on his instagram he took a bit showing off him making some Space Marines...
As he says...
"Dressing room warhammer makin' sesh. I feel 9 again..."
It looks like he's even picked himself up a Bloodthirster potentially underneath that box although I can't quite make it out.
A rather funky image that certainly made me smile this afternoon!

That has to be one of the highest profile wargamers ive seen for years. Ed sheeran has gone up in my estimation…
Whilst I have no time at all for his brand of asinine ‘busker’ pop, it’s nice to see Ed Shed-Head partaking in the wargaming hobby.
At least he can afford it !
Only just. Profits from one sell out arena concert = tube of glue & box of marines.
Ed who?
My thoughts as well
No i dont think he is the Doctor.
Dont know that Ed either, guess he doesnt make Metal.
He does look like a wargamer though doesn’t he! 😉
I was thinking of James Blunt.
First his beyond awesome song for the Hobbit and now this. Damn, I like this man. 🙂
Does this mean our hobby shops are going to be full of cool kids in skinny jeans
don’t, making me shudder just thinking about it:
‘so yeah, like, totes rolled a double six and like, wasted the guy, god I’m such a nerd yah’
‘yeah totes amaze-balls bro’
ah well, maybe these hipsters will mellow out a bit in some bearded, beer-bellied, dice-fueled company and we’ll find out they aren’t as bad as they seem…
I’m not even vaguely old (I hope) but I have no idea who he is, that said, as the adage goes, any publicity is good publicity!
Well he did say he was a geek. Not my normal listen but really liked ‘I see fire’ from the desolation of Smaug soundtrack. Beats the manufactured crap
he should be promoting the Hobbit game it needs the help? after doing one of the songs for the trilogy
After GW’s handling of that God could not save it
Who is Ed Sheeran?
Never heard of him, I’m probably too old.
Hi all. Ed Sheeran is the world leading solo recording artist. I have seen him in concert and he is absolutely brilliant. Not only that, he appears to be a really top bloke! I was then trying to get to grips why Ed Sheeran doing Warhammer is important to me. In my opinion having someone as “cool” as Ed in our game lends some “coolness” (not sure of the words) to what we do. I personally struggled to get back into gaming in my 20’s because I didn’t want to be labelled a gheek, nerd etc. As I have matured… Read more »
Did a stageshow with a guy at the Edinburgh comedy festival a few years ago and he told me about his games with Robin Williams, who had a massive Slannesh 40k army. Hasn’t Marilyn Manson got a plaguebearer on his arm?
…wow, your way back there my friend. Give the lion a stroke from me.
too right @garethwallace, seem to recall when BoW moved into Studio One after they’d moved back from Essex, there’s a weekender and I think it was Lloyd and Warren had been to a local store to pick up curtains and stuff to black the light from the studio, check-out girl was looking all curious and I think it was Warren who explained ‘well we have this site and we do a lot of filming’ shock of horror on the girls face thinking it was something smutty before Lloyd chips in ‘oh no, it’s far worse than that! we play with… Read more »
Nice one Ed!
Me and Dr Andy went to Edinburgh to buy an airbrush and a compressor. We ended-up, after lunch, in Burke & Hares. One of the attractive young ladies asked what we were doing. I said I had bought an air-brush. Explained it was for painting models – she said “oh yeah, you mean you spray fake tan?” Sometimes you have to wonder…
‘what are you doing?’
‘applying Zenithal highlights to your arse, now stand still…’
I don’t really understand why this is such a taboo subject. A friend of mine I went through university with is a club dancer. I have, literally painted her with an airbrush. Stencils, body paint, the works.
It’s a job. She’s very good at it. I’m also free whereas body art studios charge a fortune. For those thinking how sexy it must be imagine spraying your sister. Ferrying her and other dancers about is more an exercise in keeping paint off the car seats and not smudging than some lust fest.
Now, that is quite cool 🙂
My mate spotted David Beckham at GW Leeds with his kids.
