A New Space Marine Librarian Next On The Cards For Warhammer 40k
June 11, 2015 by brennon
Games Workshop aren't done with Space Marines as the next release for them appears to be another new plastic model. This time around they are harnessing the power of the Warp for Warhammer 40,000 with a new Librarian you can see HERE.
Updated with Librarian & Chaplain Pics HERE
The image shows him with a Storm Bolter in Terminator Armour holding his Staff in the other hand. I hope that the kit comes with the option to give him a 'casting hand' as I always thought that was more impressive than having a Bolter.
I'm not such a fan of the big book on his shoulder either but I guess you could remove that and maybe even work on putting that in his hands instead.
Will you be picking him up?

Yes, there’s an option for a casting hand – pic here:

And there’s a new Chaplain too:

I still prefer the old metal terminator librarian though…
Ah cheers @oathsworn – have updated it above 🙂
Model is a little bland but then they have to cater to all the different chapters with one miniature. The finecast one it replaces was quite nice but I suppose it was always going to go to plastic eventually.
The librarian terminator is one of the coolest characters in the space marine army imo, seems the artwork always make them better justice though.
Novel idea: put the artists and sculptors in the same room.
lol yeah, another one; write and publish insight articles about the creative creation process in white dwarf or on the website.
I’m getting that new Interrogator Chaplain, I have one in Terminator armour who is amazing, and I of course have Sephericus, but why not more.
Lovely bit of art, but a boring mini.
I’ll be honest, I cannot see much difference between the old librarian mini and the new! But without creating a whole new mini from scratch with a more dynamic pose there’s not a lot that could be done.
