Saxon Miniatures Gather All Of King Arthur’s Knights
June 9, 2015 by brennon
Saxon Miniatures have put together a fantastic collection of miniatures for all you fans of Arthurian period wargaming. I don't mean the French Romantic style tales either; I mean proper 'Historical' Arthurian legend back between the fall of the Roman Empire and the successive invasions by the Saxons...
Knights Of The Round Table
The set which comes in at a very reasonable cost indeed contains a whole host of the Knights Of Arthur that will know of and some that are rather more obscure. Did you know there was a Gareth? I didn't either until today!
Now all you need to do is come up with some awesome scenarios set during this period where each of the Knights goes out to defend our Isle of Albion against the Saxon invaders. You could even come up with some kind of campaign system where they get gain new skills.
I also like the idea of incorporating those other myths and legends about King Arthur and his Knights where you pit them against Dragons, go in search of Grails and everything else in-between - but in this more accurate setting.
Now all we need is a Mordred and Morgana to go along with this set.
What do you think of it as a collection?

I’m buying these!
They are very well priced for such nice models!
Could imagine using these for Lord of the Rings games too.
angelicdespot, I think they are fantastic models but unfortunately lord of the rings are a little small in comparison to 28 mm true scale. I never thought I would ever ever hear myself sound so utterly beardy, I am turning into another weld inspector or rivet counter and lorzy knows there are far too many of them around, LOL.
Where’s Derfel?
Really nice models
I have heard this will be the next direction Saga will take. I think I will be getting these regardless of any truth in the rumour.
Sweet. Great proportions and poses. That tiny voice is my wallet crying “Help me.”
I may well be getting these for my Romano-British army to expand my forces for Dux Britaniarum (from TooFatLardies) which is a truly excellent set of rules for the Dark Ages
They certainly are the best narrative campaign rules for the period they even play out well as a solo game.
They do look rather good. Many rule sets out there to try them with.
