Just another day at the office!

You know when you got it good.
Tonight when my lovely wife asks me what I did at work today, I'll tell her I did all the usual stuff... you know... providing world class tabletop TV entertainment.
Oh... and once that was done... I painted myself a Mantic Berserker Lord for D&D!
I took the pictures on my iPhone, so the quality isn't great. Anyway, Romain is in the studio filming some painting tutorials.
The wolf pelt cloak on this guy was painted using Romain's wolf fur technique... watch out for that coming soon.

cant w8 for the vid for the fur
Thanks for rubbing your awesome life in my face Andy. ;P
The pleasure was all mine. 😀
soon …
YAY for Romain! The reason I asked for a wolf fur guide was for this very model – he is sitting here with an unpainted cloak atm! lol
Lots of interesting vids lurking about in the bottom drawer at BOW. Get posting Andy – the crowds demand more gaming (and painting) goodness!
We’ll definately be playing D&D, but I need to muster a party first.
With Romain across from Paris, it was the perfect opportunity to get together our D&D fraternity… however… the public demands that Romain paint!
So he’s been locked in the BoW salt mines, with a paintbrush chained to his wrist, churning out fanatastic 3-colours up videos and some cracking painting tips for the Backstagers.
How are the online options coming along?? id love to rpg but getting a group together face to face is not always possible
Looks fantastic dude – and for D&D as well, even more epic. MUST get my hands on some of those Mantic Dwarf heroes. I would love the Runesmith/Runelord (not sure on its proper name) model for one of my dwarf fighters.
This guy will be used to represent Baron Alerune… my all too vicious (and all too drunken) Dwarf Tempest Fighter. The mixture of Hand Axes, Tempest Technique, Dwarven Weapon Training, Deft Hurler (with a Hand Axe +1) and Cleave is monstrous at low level… he’s only level 2 by the way… Throw in Weapon Master’s Strike for 1D6+11 as an at-will attack and you have a Fighter who can hit you for loads (not counting daily or encounter powers) and mark you, or tap you for 1D6+7 (with a mark too) and lob an axe (which magically returns) at another… Read more »
That is a lethal combination. I have to say that I think the Tempest Fighter, or maybe the Brawling Fighter are two of my favourite builds. Both of them are incredibly ‘cinematic’ in feel – and the Brawling Fighter has some amazing powers you can fall back on to change up the encounter.
sound a bit like “power gaming” to me 😛
lol, can be if you min/max your stats – but most of the time, especially with 4th Edition you can be pretty powerful without even trying to min/max your heroes etc.
this is why i prefer older versions-
Id like to be a halforc/half dragon fighter/assassin/cleric with these 45 options please- bleuuurgghhhh
oh dear im becoming a troll
Our D&D is powergaming!
The monsters are powered up to match the heroes and there are hordes of Minions to slay… great fun…
If people want to have an “intense roleplaying session” then I say go for it. However, after a long day of Beasts of war, we just want to kick back, roll dice and slaughter stuff wholesale.
I have no time for those who pontificate about “proper roleplaying” as though it’s some rare thing that only they can appreciate… it’s snobbery… the game is meant to be fun and tailored for the players at the table. No one else!
Powergaming is the essence of D&D4… For good or ill !

Who let him out of the shackles???
Get back into that studio and get painting! 🙂
Nooo ! NOOOO ! Not the red hot poker ! I’ll be good, I promise… I’ll even paint one of those bulky old dreadnoughts !

It’s why ‘Essentials’ is so refreshing. It takes a lot of the confusion out of the martial classes and boils them down to just their core/cool mechanics. The ‘Knight’ and ‘Slayer’ build for the Fighter in Essentials are just fantastic and feel really cool.
