Weekender: The Dawn Of Full Colour Digital Printed Terrain?
June 6, 2015 by warzan
We're back with The Weekender after another busy week of getting things ready for the impending Boot Camp and more. However, we've also had time to delve into other parts of the hobby!
The Week In Gaming
There has been an explosion of awesome stuff in the way of Alessio Cavatore getting both his Waterloo - Quelle Affaire project funded and Terminator Genisys being officially available to buy.
Justin has also got his head sculpts sent through from Prodos Games and TemplarsCrusade01 has challenged Warren!
Pre-Painted Terrain
One of the big things we received this week was a package from PlastCraft showing off their utterly amazing new pre-painted terrain.
We discuss some of the benefits of the material and where we think the industry could go with products like these.
Mad Max Update
The guys have also started having fun dreaming up cool Mad Max vehicles and digging out some Micro Machines in 20mm scale. Maybe we should stage a Game Designer Challenge for the rules?
We also take a look at some superb projects being worked on by community member robsaunders which you can follow HERE.
Terminator Genisys
Last but not least we had a sit down chat with Alessio Cavatore to talk about the Terminator Genisys game by River Horse and distributed by Warlord Games.
There's plenty of hobby material to dive into too with a world like this.
Have a great weekend!

morning
Morning, its is way to early for that voice
So all I think of when I see Justin’s head on those minis is SUPERMARIONATION!
…FAB to that!
Good morning folks, what’s on the menu?
Damn, wish I could have made the Infinity boot camp!
Sorry chaps, don’t want to come over all pedantic but a couple of mispronunciations are driving me nuts…
“Quelle affaire” – Kell not kwell
“Corps” – core not cores
You may proceed! 😉
Good Morning!!! Great show as always, and I want a bit of what Warren is drinking! Thanks for the giggles
Ok with regards to the challenge game Bolt ACK ACK ACKTION with a whole army of Martians with Justin’s head! Let the anal probing begin!!!
Morning all
Random thoughts: 1) Warren’s buggy, even with the Top Gear “Boduccia” wheels is realistically bound to tip over even looking at a turn, much less trying to go around it. 2) Hex and counter rule over minis. And get off my lawn you kids. 3) Are we going to see Hot Wheels as a sponsor now? 😉 4) Are they Dollar stores over there? Shouldn’t they be Pound stores? Not that it matters since apparently every in the store isn’t priced a dollar over here anyways. 5) Boy I hope Steve Jackson and company are looking hard at what Fantasy… Read more »
Are you suggesting I may have went overboard!!! 😉
Oh no. Going overboard is putting a figure with Justin’s head underneath the garderobe in the Mordenburg watchtower….
The game needs to be played on the Giants Causeway
It should be a Bolt Action game between Warren and Death – like the movie ‘The Seventh Seal’ (http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0050976/)
LMAO! Hmmmm interesting idea. Although the weather here would probably impose a few constraints. You’d need to weigh the minis down with lots of led in the bases as the force 10 gale wouldn’t be long in shifting them (actually you’d need to weigh down some of the spectators as well – definitely Sam, more than likely Justin, but the…ermmmmm….naturally ballasted Brian and Warzan should be fine). You’d need some sort of heavy state of the art goretex cover to keep the rain off the table. A snow plough would need to be on standby just in case of summer… Read more »
Morning!
I had to stop myself from laughing when Warren started “Justin-fying” 40k minis. Sleeping baby in the room next door – won´t someone please think of the children!? 😉
That Justinstealer is truly the stuff of nightmares… if GW ever produces a Space Hulk movie, it could well be the arch-villain! 😀
Loving the Mad Max insanity!
But, what’s the deal with wussing out on the conveyor belt road idea? How hard can it be?
Right. If you guys aren’t up for it, then it looks like it’s up to me to… erm…wuss out as well (because it’s a stupidly, barking mad idea…).
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s XLBS with Justin’s Robotech talk, sans game designer looking over his shoulder!
Kwelll affaire. You make my day !
The rule set for mad max has to be Steve Jackson’s Car Wars, it’s quick to learn plays really well at high speed and was a favorite at our school gaming club way back when.
Going to raid the shops for Hotwheels he he he
Warzan Vs TemplarsCrusade01…. a heavyweight contest 🙂
I suggest that on each turn a dice is rolled to determine whether a THIRD PARTY enters the fray with the intention of wiping out both protagonists.
It could be Martians…
It could be Terminators…
It could be another Bolt Action force…
Morning guys. Great to see the Mad Max craze carry on into tabletop and nice to see the terminator stuff coming together.
@warzan Have you tried this for laying roads as you get 60 feet in a roll and it is sticky back so really easy to apply, figured with Infinity, Route 666 and Terminator you will be doing a fair few.

Satin or a matt varnish over the plastic terrain as a primer would help, especially as the cut bare edges won’t have been painted.
Warren’s mad max vehicle reminds me of ‘the Homer’
Love the look of the pre-painted terrain but couldn’t find it on their website (could be me being blind), is it released yet?
Awesome episode guys!
Join backstage, help the BoW guys to keep the studio lights on, and let this madness continue… a Justinstealer… pure awesome mandness… hahahahahahha… Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
I see Justin heads appearing on multiple dogs bodies for Mars Attacks!
When it comes to buildings my big terrain concerns are storage and transportability. All these buildings are awesome but I don’t have a big house with many rooms dedicated to gaming. I need to be able to put everything away in one box at the end of the day. I also need to be able to take it with me down the flgs or over to a friends house. I thought the Deadzone terrain wuld be ideal for this, but its not really suitable for being taken apart and put back together between games. More terrain that can be quickly… Read more »

Morning all
What a cracking show fellas, thrilled you opted for hot wheels, the range is huge and you guys are producing some wonderful cars. The rules for this will be something I’ll definitely grab a copy of. Kit bashing hot wheels cars will be a nice change of pace and refreshingly cheap!!
Roll on XLBS !!!
Nice buildings…and when looking at the places the “blood” is on the models…I think it is rust…and it looks good.
I’ll be grabbing a copy of the mad max rules, now to lay my hands on some hot wheels cars and go a bit crazy
Morning guys, glad the box arrived! Tris (the real donator) is working going to start working on his own faction this weekend – I suspect the bits box will be empty by tomorrow!
It was awesome lol!
Make sure and post some pics of the weekends work 🙂
Ok I have a question about Prodos new service?
Can you have sculpted heads of others as well? Whilst I would love to have my own head on my Night Lords Raptor Lord, I would love to have Mads Mikkelsen’s head inside terminator armor for a Night Lords terminator lord complete with apothecary arm..
