Age of Tyrants Reveals Sketches of Junkers Models
June 3, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Age of Tyrants, a new yet to be released 6mm miniatures game, has released some sketches of some WIP for Junkers faction tanks.
In this game they are promising mighty battles with infantry and armour, in a grand scale. This is a Sci-Fi setting and it will be interesting to see how this game develops.
The models previewed are: Draco, Exarch, Octoris Falx, Octoris Incendia, Onager and Ventor. These look to be some mighty big guns to bring to the battle.
Are you ready for some big armour in a tiny scale?

You can see these in 3D on their website as well!

That track system doesn’t look like it would support a shopping cart.
I’ve always liked the fluff for Urban War, I could just never find anyone interested in actually playing it. 6mm is also fairly appealing, this might actually be a winner when it finally releases.
looks similar to the old EPIC land train engine?
For some old Epic players out there it might be good thing especially with all the dwarves exodus sell
Looking promising!
urban war was one of my fav games, this looks great, been ages in the making, cant wait for the kick
Urban war had SO much potential back in the day! When the game was at it’s peak there was not many other games around. It had so much room to grow and was played a hell of alot at my FLGC. Then they brought out Metropolis and pushed there version of TAGs/walker’s (can’t remember the name) but the rules were very unbalanced and some of the TAGs were horribly unbalanced whilst others were extremely under powered. The problem was that the pushed Metropolis so hard they left Urban War to the side and when one of the main guys left… Read more »
The company behind the UrbanWar/Metropolis/Age of Tyrants I.P.s is Myriad Miniatures right now. I don’t know if this company is the successor of Urban Mammoth or not, but the creative director of the Age of Tyrants project is John Robertson, who worked on Urban War too.
Update from the official forum:
Myriad Miniatures is the manufacturer and distributor, Urban Mammoth is the IP ruler!
Reminds me of the old Squat Leviathan mobile fort from Epic.
Hi chaps,
Thanks for the comments. Just realised this preview went up this morning so apologies for the delayed reply.
Much appreciate the support and the kinds comments above, Roger great to see you here too 😀
Just to answer a couple of queries
@cpauls1 this is a Joomla template so it should support a shopping cart at some point, if it doesn’t I’ll be ‘avin’ words with the web designer 😉
For the meantime however we will pushing the Kickstarter, hopefully within a month, so folk will be able to order them through our program.
@ ogretyrant Yes you are right, we took a serious wrong turn with Metropolis, the lorry left the road and plunged into a canyon! And by the time we’d pulled ourselves out to focus back on Urban War a veritable deluge of high quality 28mm sci-fi game were on the market and it proved too difficult to re-establish ourselves despite our best efforts with CTA, a second edition and a new faction release, it simply didn’t get the traction needed to support ongoing development. And, as you rightly point out, I had to leave the country over 6 years ago,… Read more »
Afternoon all, just sticking my oar in as the writer and designer of Age of Tyrants to say we’re hoping to make a big deal of the Draconis Alba gaming universe, and each of the games will offer a very different experience of the armies and factions you collect. Age of Tyrants is all about size–big battles, big tanks, big units of infantry (for example the Junker Legionaries will be 24 to a base, so each 4 base platoon is effectively a Century). This will offer a very different way of playing the factions compared to the more tactical, man… Read more »
