War Of Wonders Adds Superheroes To Their World War II Antics
May 28, 2015 by brennon
War of Wonders by LimanaUmanita looks to place superheroes in World War II with an awesome sounding take on Weird World War. Think about the first Captain America film and you'll probably have a handle on how this should work out!
The World
Of course it's always good to kick off with some background on the world. Metahumans and superheroes have been drafted in by both sides to try and end the conflict but now huge monsters and more are raging around this 20th Century battlefield...
More on the game...
"Nazi Germany declares war on Europe, and its army is unstoppable. Prodigious beings appear on the battlefields to support the Wehrmacht's efforts: flying men shower flames upon the enemy; women wearing iron masks punch through tank armour; bloodthirsty beasts devour entire regiments...
...the US Army launches Project H.O.P.E. in order to produce their own genetically modified humans to be deployed on the battlefields. As the war rages on and every army creates its own Meta-Humans and war machines, Natural Prodigies, unscrupulous Adventurers and even secretive groups of Warlocks step into battle."
It all sounds fairly awesome and I think they've got a great aesthetic for the game as you check out the pieces above.
The Models
The game is looking to create a range of 30mm models for use with the game. Regular World War II infantry fight alongside heroes and villains like these below...
The models are looking pretty awesome I would say and the villains are suitably villainous. One of the models that features in the artwork at the top of the page and I can see being a favourite for most people is Brunhild for the Germans...
I look forward to seeing what other heroes come out of this campaign and how the rules develop. Speaking of rules you can download them HERE for free so you can give them a go.
Does this appeal to you?

The top guy is what the Mechanicus figures could have been.
I like ’em all, except for the superhero at the bottom. I imagine her superpower has something to do with Ice Capades.
Dr Evil is pretty awesome looking “prepare zee next experiment!”
lovely models –
Those are really good.
