Do Battle In The Forest With Wood Wars 3D On Kickstarter
May 21, 2015 by brennon
A rather neat looking project which looks like it could be very neat for new and younger players to get into has popped up on Kickstarter. See what you think of Wood Wars 3D which is based on the original wargaming rules by H.G.Wells!
The game looks very quick to play and uses 3D printing to bring the simple pieces to life. When you play a game of Wood Wars you use animal soldiers to fight out battles over the forest itself with some fun mechanics like using marbles as projectiles harking back to the old ways of playing tabletop wargames.
You can either pledge to get your hands on this game with the files to 3D print the models yourself or for a little extra get the components manufactured for you. It's certainly a novel and very charming looking wargame that I think could represent rather a good project for someone looking to learn about 3D printing as well as play a wargame.
You can find out more about the game in the video above and the links too.
What do you think?

At first sight of the marble tower I thought it was a trash can with legs. I rolled my eyes and sad “Man that looks so daft” then the marble came out! That’s when I said “That’s soooo cool!”.I like that simple mechanic as it really comes down to your ability to aim than a luck of the dice.
This whole 3D printing thing is AMAZING! So it begins!
