Learn How To Play Guild Ball With A Neat 3v3 Intro Game
May 19, 2015 by brennon
The GBHL Podcast which normally do Lords of the Rings and Hobbit coverage have put up the first in a new series of videos called Guild Ball TV which will be taking you through the game and teaching you the rules as well as showing off whole matches. The first episode is a 3v3 between the Fishermen and the Brewers...
It's a pretty well done video with a good tempo to it taking you through the various rules and giving you a real feel for the game without bogging it down in too much minutia.
Interestingly the game has a lot of mechanical similarities with Warmachine in terms of the way abilities work. Away from that the base mechanics of the game seem very straight forward and it will be interesting to see how it takes off as a game.
I know that a lot of people are enjoying it right now and the teams are certainly very appealing. I think I'd love to play as the Brewers or the Butchers.
Who do you think will win this 3v3 game?

Well done – give a flavour of the game -funny enough my teams are the brewers and the butchers
These miniatures… LOVE them.
Great video. great game and as @elromanoza say great minis – minimal clean up and possibly better quality casts that infinity to give you a measure of standards. All mine are built and based may get chance this weekend to start a painting blog including these and other bits.
Good video, I found I pretty informative. The minis look great and I’m certainly tempted. The small 3 a side seems like a pretty quick and relatively simple one without too much to remember. I think 6 v 6 may be beyond me though.
From my limited experience @superfurrymaniac 6 a side is no more complicated in terms of rules there is more synergies and layering of abilities but against a same level opponent it will play the same just with more tactical options
Thanks for sharing the experience, it is useful to hear what people who’ve played think rather than me just guessing from reading. I reckon I’ll have a bash with Vassal, since the rules are available I might as well.
