A Disgusting Plague Fly Buzzes Around Spellcrow
May 11, 2015 by dracs
Spellcrow are once again working on something new for their Plague Legion, but have moved away from accessory parts for the human soldiers to make a disgusting Plague Fly.
I have to admit I can't make my mind up whether these flies are really awesome or really ridiculous. On the one hand the flies themselves are suitably monstrous, with the enlarged fly heads and pitted skin making them very disturbing. On the other, those turbines on their back kind of spoil the effect slightly, but are needed to give the scifi monster its character.
Whatever you might think of the Plague Fly's appearance, it is still a very effective model and would fit in well with a diseased army in the future, or even as some disgusting creation of a disturbed steampunk scientist.
What's your verdict on Spellcrow's flies?

Interesting. They gave that fly some thrusters.
Like the plague spawn, I think it’s disappointing. Too cartoon looking and not enough daemonic menace. I’d like to see them make things that GW don’t cater for, like dedicated Nurgle bikes, maybe a palanquin and some heavy weapons for Nurgle Devastators.
