Demigods Rising Heading Back To Kickstarter For New Models In Evolution

Demigods Rising is teaming up with Prodos Games (who will produce the miniatures) to bring a new range of heroes and Demigods to their board game of deity-smashing smiting in June. See what you think of some of the 32mm resin models below showing off what they can do...
What's New?
Well, as you can see the models that you might have known from the original game that launched on Kickstarter have been given a few weapon swaps allowing them to take different options into battle. This means that you'll be seeing a series of multi-part kits allowing you to make these heroes and more however you wish.
Not only that but this is actually going to change how the models play in the game since you've given them these different options. Each of the models will be at the 32mm scale and make for not only awesome looking pieces for the main game but also potential models for a myriad of other Fantasy games too.

However they haven't just got some renders to show off. The folks at Prodos have been working away on some proper resin miniatures which you can check out below...
The first two above will be models that you know from the Demigods Rising campaign being the Assassin and Black Wolf. The skills of Prodos are clearly in effect here and they've managed to hit the level of detail on the head.
Added to that Prodos really know what they're doing when it comes to actually putting the models together so hopefully, while they look delicate, they'll go together nicely.
The look at the new High Elder shows off some of the alternatives you can give your warriors in the game. In her case she can have a different helmet which looks decidedly more impressive and over the top than her original look.
Above is another of these alternative models with a different take on the Warlord for the game. I think this is one of my favourite models from the range as it stands anyway so it's good to see him back with some awesome looking weapons and armour. He reminds me a lot of the kind of warriors you'd meet in Dark Souls/Demon Souls.

Your misleading people. They ARE NOT CHANGING the plastic minis that come in the box. ONLY THE RESIN. The reason they did team up with Prodos is because Titan Forge and Demigod Rising was having alot of issues with poor resin minis. If you visit the community, alot of us are not happy with Demi God Rising. Demi Gods Rising has said it themselves, they do not plan to add interchangeable parts with the plastics, the relaunch of a already successful campaign would have to fund very high for them to consider it. I don’t think we’ve stated anywhere that they’re changing the plastic miniatures. This is only concerned with the resin miniatures that they’re doing for this new Kickstarter – I even say at the top that this is a new range of heroes although I will make it clearer that this is the resin set.

I’m not sure either how to feel about this new Kickstarter while they are still trying to work out and deliver on the previous one. I’m happy they teamed up with Prodos and maybe some more attention and money will get everything sorted for the whole project. But I can imagine that another kickstarter could also turn into another distracting timesink.
For the moment I’ll wait and see.
At least this one won’t be subject to such IP paranoia from a film studio. Whether that’s a comfort is up to you and your wallet.

I am having problems with the justification of them coming up with a new KS for resin minis when they have not sent out a single game yet. As of the last update, they had not even started producing the plastic minis for the game. I would consider myself an idiot to give them more money for new stuff when they have not yet manufactured a single production complete unit to send to any of us backers.

More Kickstarters? Why don’t they just make the product the old fashioned way?
There are a lot of good reasons to go Kickstarter, but I think listing them here will just distract from the conversation here.
What I don’t understand is what’s going on here. If I understand these comments right, they’re launching a second kickstarter to fund a game that they’ve already funded once on Kickstarter? As in, this is not an expansion? Am I reading this right?
I must admit this does seem like a very strange situation (O ,o) so have they not actually fully manufactured and delivered the first game yet ? well on a plus side, the minis look great, 🙂 and the casting is as excellent as always from prodos 🙂 so hopefully they can find a way to solve whatever situation they have right now 🙂 … is another kickstarter, the right way to do it ? … I’m not sure … but maybe they just want to get some quick sales from the resin minis out, and then pump the rest… Read more »
No, the full game hasn’t been produced and delivered yet. They started creating the collectible resin pieces. Ran into trouble with the manufacturer. So now they switched to a new one. For some reason (unknown to me) they decided to do another kickstarter to produce more resin minis. I can imagine how a revenue boost could help the project as a whole, but it al sounds a bit sketchy. yep, that definitely sounds a bit wierd …
maybe they should have just stuck with either resin or plastic for the minis, and not both ?
because maybe two different casting materials was just too many different processes
to try and juggle around at once ?
I always think it’s best to just stick to one simple plan, and not make things too complicated 😛
well anyway, hopefully they can start to explain the situation a bit better before the new kickstarter
the minis are awesome, so I hope it works out for everyone, especially the backers 🙂
Well guys, lets say they have gone silent again, and some have asked about refunds (including me) and we are answered in…..you guessed it….Silence.
Stay away from this until Demi Gods Rising pulls in head out of it’s….Woh! Almost forgot this was a family environment. 🙂
I feel for anyone that backed the original and hope whatever it is they are trying brings your rewards closer. I almost joined you backing it for more than the $1 I contributed but it appears that my cashfloiw might have saved me.
The big red flashing light raised by their lack of communication over their problems means I won’t be going near this.
I’m also a backer but I’m not buying in to the paranoia hype that some other posters here seem to be pushing. People often complain that they are not getting enough info from KS projects but considering the scare mongering that goes on at the best of times I’m not surprised they would prefer to stay silent on a problem until they have realised a solution.
