New 40k Imperial Knights Unveiled By Games Workshop [Updated]
April 28, 2015 by brennon
It looks like Games Workshop aren't finished with Imperial Knights for Warhammer 40,000 as they have plans for two new designs which will be coming to their webstore this weekend on the 2nd of May. See what you think of the new designs below in all their shadowy glory...
Update: New Knight Warden shows up on the cover of White Dwarf HERE.
New Knights
The ideas floating around right now say that the new Knights are called the Crusader, Warden and the Gallant and will come as a combo kit that gives you all the parts to make one of them.
As you can see above they all share the same basic body shape and the difference will be with both the armaments and the head that sits in the middle of all that metal.
Weapons wise the Crusader is rocking out with a Quake Cannon while the Warden has a Volcano Cannon. What interests me though is that massive fist they've each got; I'd love a bit more of a melee focused Imperial Knight!
There has also been talk of the Imperial Knight Codex getting an overhaul and that these new rules for the Knights will be White Dwarf only to begin with but released later on down the line.
Are you looking to pick up some new Knights?

Baby Reaver Titans
Absolutely, awesome, outstanding, incredible, fantastic and detailed mini titans! If there as good as the initial released kits. Then the other shoe drops and its the one that we (because we both play) have to consider in all its forms and its knock on effect in the real life world, that of cost. Then I get the well why don’t you scratch build some sort of titans to use. So along with every thing else (including the World Wide D Day Challenge check it out in the Historical threads NOW!) I built a respectable looking titan with a capital T.… Read more »
Can you post on the forum @chris@ , or send a pic to me, and I will post it on your behalf?
Sorry… @chrisg 🙂
They better make chaos kit.
Wooop!
They look so awesome with that top mounted missile launcher. I am getting one.
But only one, as I am saving up for the Warlord Titan.
Oh goody…. more pay-to-win units…
…what’s the point?
This one release that I should had expected but for some reason I didn’t. It’s another big expensive kit for pay-to-win players.
It’s a shame that this appears to use the same body as the previous kit. In fact it looks suspiciously like it’s basically just more weapon options. Nothing wrong with that, but I was hoping for something very different.
Now I like the look of these, but, the proof as they say will be in the pudding.
I’ll freely admit that I was hoping for a completely new type of Knight and not just new weapon options… But I won’t judge on silhouettes alone.
now two to choose from decisions – decisions.
hmmm, as @manpug says, was hoping for a chaos one…
They are also releasing a new codex!! The original one is only 1 year old so I’m not to sure if a 1 years use is good value.
It isn’t – these mini-waves are good but the old codex model needs to change with it. PP have a middle ground, and GW even have one with stuff like shield of Baal – so why fall back to this?
WD cover leak floating around.
New head plate, awesome Power fist, dead sexy gatling (with underslung heavy flamer), new cool face plate and the long awaited caraparace missile launcher.
More big robots.
Yay.
Oh b*gger not more and I’ve just bought another codex! Arrrgghh – think I’m going to have to drop another army. My budget doesn’t allow me to keep up with this pace. I’ve fallen way behind as it is and I can’t even afford the new Assassinorum game for a month or so – let alone another Imperial Knight! :/
But then perhaps GW would prefer us to just have one or two armies?! 😉
Is anyone else getting a 1970s era Cylon look from one of the new varient Knight masks?
By your command…

I would definatly replace the back mounted rocket pods with javelin launchers or perhaps a traditional stone thrower

They look to be solid variants on the basic knight kit – which was great (don’t own one but still a very nice kit) I was hoping something more Epic-esque in variety. Is it me or is GW no longer pushing the envelope?
