I went along to my first Salute today basically based on the vids from last year. Absolutely fantastic.
Came back with Guild Ball stuff and Wild West Exodus. Very pleased with the purchases.
Up until Beasts of War I thought wargaming was Warhammer and historical full stop. You really have done a great job of introducing a much wider more creative world than that.
Thanks for spoiling my life in a really good way!
The Guild Ball stuff looks fantastic, and their stand was chock-a-block all day. The guys’ enthusiasm for their product was infectious, and while I didn’t commit to buying anything at Salute yesterday, I’ve spent all day so far today on their website trying to work out which of the gangs I like the most 😀

Very well done folks – I have been watching on and off all day. There are many big media organisations who couldn’t pull off such an interesting set of presentations and interviews, and of course Grant can put the Hoth game on his game-developer’s CV. Safe home folks.
Had a great day at Salute, my first visit and well worth the trip – tried out some new games, picked up 7TV and Dead Man’s Hand (which I doubt I would have done otherwise) but Grantt’s Battle of Hoth provide the highlight of the day for me when Vader walked up and said “You’ve put my legions in the command of a child?” and some of the Rebel players replied “Yes, and she’s doing a pretty good job as well.”

Thanks to everyone involved for the coverage, really enjoyed it, this live blogging system is great at giving a taste of the day as it is actually progressing.
Well done to the team for the Battle of Hoth, I think the pictures of the players on the games blog page, with everyone from 10 year olds to 40+ all smiling and having fun together with that game is a testament to what you all achieved. That is everything wargaming is about as far as i’m concerned.
It was the first Salute for the wife and I and what a great day. We were both impressed with the Hoth table…well, what we could see through the three-deep crowds! BoW you have outdone yourselves and I hope you get to enjoy a relaxing beer…or two.

I would totally play it… it will be great if he gets to make a kickstarter for it but since FF games already have Imperial Assault there might be some issues. In anycase it will be great to see it out as a generic ruleset for mass battle games.

Guys I’ve read or watched every aspect of the live blog today and can quite honestly say that the coverage was fantastic, peerless even. On first impressions I really don’t see how you could have improved it at all even if you wished to, it was that good. What is obviously a huge amount of work looks effortless, and that’s a very very difficult impression to give off. Hats off to all of you and thankyou so much for bringing Salute to those of us who couldn’t attend.

Seriously for all you guys do; the cost of backstage is way too low you are giving beyond premium service for less than the bargain basement price of the lowest level of entry cost.
Seriously I want to pay more I feel as I am stealing from you guys at times.
How about an opt in extra monthly payment for Back Stagers , with nothing more then say becoming a Core member with some sort of signage of this on our member name, and as a profile picture

I think once again guys you have ticked all the right boxes! Mixture of interesting blogs and blogs to keep us all wanting more with a healthy splattering of prizes. For me the highlight could be Hawk Games as their space ship game may put something different on the table. While we have lots more option today than a decade ago we don’t necessarily have lots more variety and Hawk Games may be about to change that.
@cypher4242 I got to see Hawk’s huge spaceship yesterday for the first time, and it is staggering! Just the sheer ambition of a project like that blows me away. If you haven’t seen it get, I highly recommend you jump at the next opportunity. My respect for Dave and his team continues to soar.

Just got home, and can’t wait to watch through all the other videos. There’s just so much good to say about Salute, but the highlight for me was really the sheer delight of meeting so many lovely and enthused people.
It started with the backstage meetup on Friday, and the first few people I met were such nice people that I never made it much further to even say hello to many others!
Then chatting to designers, sculptors and gamers during the day… Seeing the results of all the BoW crew’s hard work on the staggering Hoth table and the excitement of the crowds of people gathering around.
What a celebration of humanity!
