That looks so sweet,a starter a army would be quite nice 😉
ive been following the KS army look fine
I heard robots, sold
Great looking sculpts
I like the smaller force aspect of this game. Was thinking of restarting 40k but now im looking at this
So much plastic, so little time. That’s why I prefer skirmish level games now.
hmmmm, haven’t really heard a lot about this system… we’re being spoilt for choice
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/medge/maelstroms-edge-a-next-gen-sci-fi-miniatures-warga
The back story sounds very interesting and it’s cool they have fiction for it already ready to go!
Minis look cool…love the drones…
That’s some crisp looking minis. Although the Epirians do look a little blocky at first glance. Probably just a camera effect though. Nice job!
Nice Minis on their KS
minis and story are intriguing. would love to get my hands on this
My name is in the hat 🙂
Humans with robots and easy to paint… what more could one ask for
The kickstarter for this looks interesting. I really like the miniature design of the armour, too.
rules remind me of some the good stuff from deadzone
Love those miniatures, so many cool games so little time (and cash!).
Sounds like how Rogue Trader should have gone instead of descending into 40k. No surprise really I guess if its the guys behind Dakkadakka who are leading on this project. Colour me interested!
I will most definitely be checking out their kickstarter
One of my friends allready pledged the kickstarter, I hope they will reach some stretch goals.
Looking good, especially keen on the Minnows and Angels
This looks really interesting! Love the robots! We will be checking out the kickstarter 🙂
the turrets and flying drones are crazy!^^
Looks really cool! 🙂
keeping an eye on the KS
This sounds relly interesting to look at
The Scarecrows look really cool. Hope they get unlocked in the kickstarter
never so much as heard of these before, diving straight into plastic?!! Ballsy!!! look forward to seeing from these lads 🙂
Models look good and I like the sound of the back story.
lot gone into the fluff of this game it looks really nice product
Glad you caught up with these guys, I’ve been following the thread on Dakka about it, not a big fan of the basic human faction, but the armoured guys are really nice, and the game rules seem to have a lot of thought put into them.
I still play 2nd edition 40K still because there is nothing like it available now, this could be its replacement finally.
Looks like a cool game and I am liking the background
The game looks good, I’ll keep an eye in it…
Mmm, books.
Got to love a book win
Backstory from the get go – that is a good sign, and the minis look sweet. I must get a nosey at their KS.
Nice to hear about a system that’s completely new to me but that has such a rich background of development. It provides a timely reminder of how much more there is out there and how important events like Salute are for raising awareness of different systems.
Wasn’t sold on it until I checked out the KS, the minis look really nice…
Looks good
I’ll have to look at the kickstarter. I like that they already have novels for the background of their game.
I like anybody who cames and say – We are doing Plastic models. Athis one looks great for the beginners. I like the drones, especialy which I would like not only to use with Maelstrom Tactics, but in any other SF games as well.
Thanks for Hard Plastic guys!
It would be neat to learn more about the background.
Perfect example of why I didn’t allow myself to go this year. Haven’t seen these mini’s before but I definitely would have thrown some money at them if I’d come across that cabinet.
Really good looking models. So much sci-fi stuff it’s hard to differentiate but these definitely had a great look to them.
I see the miniatures in person today and they are awesome, photos and video dont do them justice
look’s very cool
nice to have some reading during the hollidays.
Little sorry I over looked this game, just so much to see and do at Salute. But it sounds cool.
Great lads looking forward to this
only given this a very fast once over, this video made it a bit more intriguing. Going for a second look!
Definitely getting a 2nd Ed 40k feel from this.
Looks like a good game.
Do I really need to start another game? The logical answer is, “No” but I am going to look at the KIckstarter for this one.
Wow straight to hard plastic. Rather novel for Kickstarter. I will check it out.
Now that looks cool. I like the concept of about 30-50 miniatures in a game
Looks kinda cool, I’ll have to explore the KS page
Robots? lore? Love it, good luck to all those who comment!
Some of the poses look a smidgeon odd, but having plastics straight off the bat means they’re customisable, looks promising.
Also, lots more from this game and its cool background on the D6 Generation Podcast.
Already backed this one. Really looking forward to December for multiple reasons!
What? Yes I want!
I’m looking forward to see how this game develops 🙂
The trend of having novels that coincide with the game is great. It’s so much more than fluff and adds a bit of spirit to the game that doesn’t exist otherwise. I’ve come to have a feeling of kinship with my Outlaw Posse in WWX for example. One that I wouldn’t have had had I not read the novels. This is an excellent companion product for game creators.
The kickstarter looks interesting.
Looks cool, will have to give it ago
Some of those minis look insane!
Really like the scale of 30 models. Can’t wait to get to see all of this.
Books!
interesting idea
This sounds like it has a lot of possibilities and I look forward to hearing how they get on, on kickstarter.
the D6 generation have an interview it their show 165. Well worth a listen to
im going to check out kickstarter for this one
Definitely has a 40k look about it but I’m interested enough to have a look at their kickstarter to see if there are any rules to tempt me further.
Damn it. Guess I’ll be off to Kickstarter then.
AFAIK this is the first I’ve seen of this game – I like!
Nothing like some good background to get in the mood for a new game. Please bring me those books 😉
looks very interesting
sounds a bit like the riddick universe with a chaotic twist to it.
This looks great! Cool name also. I love all the fluff surrounding games so those books would be ace!
I see Jesus
YES PLS !!
I might get some of the scientologist types, but I think I’ll end up painting them to be rubber forehead aliens
solid looking figures
Wow surprised no mention of the scenery.
I’m intrigued, I’ll definitely take a look at their kickstarter… I’m looking right now and…the game is already funded!!
Congrats!!
Well commenting on every post is taking time this evening, sounds interesting… Robpts etc,
Hard plastic you say? Nice to see these guys so well organised
Looks cool … I gonna watch the KS closely …
Very cool.
Looked at the preview for this on kickstarter the other day, I have to say I’m very interested. Great concept and really nice minis
I completely missed this during my walk around and around the hall , shame on me ;(
Looks pretty cool.
Gotta be lucky
Wow just checked out kickstarter…this is flying big time.
And rightly so.
I said I wasn’t going to subscribe to anything more on Kickstarter, after backing Conan, and Blood Rage and the new Deadzone stuff.
It looks like I will be breaking that promise now.
I love the look and feel of the minis – and the terrain it great looking as well.
Ah for crying out loud, wheres me credit card……
It’s great to see a team put out a well thought through game in KS and I love the idea of platoon level game
Been watching this one for a while. I can feel Kickstarter calling!
Oooh I love the angle these guys have for the game
Commented!
cool video again boys
Great looking stuff!
We’re living on the edge 🙂
pretty neat.
Wouldn’t say no to the books!
I think it’s a pretty neat idea to start off with a couple of novels to get things going.
Nice display there today. I hope their KS goes well 🙂
That sounds really interesting.
Lets see how the miniatures turn out
Liking the look of those models
Looks very cool
Kickstarted this!
Looks an interesting game
really cool stuff from these guys
New game, new lore, let’s have a look with the novels.
Books are great. I’ll always take books 🙂
never heard about this before but it looks really nice. To many games.. not enough money
looks interesting, will keep them in my watchlist..
That is awesome that they have some lore via books etc already done and are not banking on the minis being used as 40k alternatives. Who are the authors, they didn’t mention the names?
Looks like an interesting game time to check out the Kickstarter.
I love the concept of this where a cosmic whip is wiping out the universe and you have factions trying to out race this whilst battling through the opposition who are trying to stop these factions out racing the Whip .
Another KS to throw money at 🙂
Why not another game for me
Books? I like books!
Novels are certainly a great way to get punters into the universe and therefore start playing.
Just had a gander at their kickstarter, looks good. Wish I had the funds right now to jump in actually, they’ve clearly spent a lot of time on the background. First time I’ve ever seen the phrase “scientifically rigorous” on a sci fi miniatures kickstarter as well, look forward to finding out more about the universe.
Why not, I need something new to read on the train 😛
Those bat-things look good
Interesting concepts, devoted developers… 😉
Love the Karist minis.
Looks interesting
Not sure I’m quite sold on the game yet, but I have a feeling I will be by the end of the Kickstarter, lol.
oh my god why do I have to go to work I should have been at salute
I’ll keep an eye on the kickstarter
I’ll have to check out that kickstarter… Added to my todo list.
Reminescent of Vor from MANY years ago. That was a cruelly overlooked system, with an epic backstory. Will give the Kickstarter a look!
everyone loves robots
Not fussed on the normal humans but the crazy maelstrom worshipers look pretty cool.
looks interesting!
It sounds like an interesting game. I’m in favour of smaller sized war games. Huge armies never get finished. I’ll have a look at the kickstarter just to see what’s going on. Having two novels for the backstory also sounds like a nice way to get in.
Hi all, my name is Tomas L. Martin and I’m one of the lead writers for Maelstrom’s Edge. Together with Stephen Gaskell I co-wrote the two novels (Faith and Sacrifice), as well as working with the rest of our team to create the background to our universe. If anyone wants to read the books you can also get them in ebook form on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=series_rw_dp_labf?_encoding=UTF8&field-collection=Battle%20for%20Zycanthus&url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text
Thank you to Beasts of War for the excellent video and to everyone who came to see our stall at Salute, as well as all of you giving comments and feedback. We have been working for three and half years to try and create the models, game and background that we always wanted to see in a wargame and we are very proud of the result. Hopefully people will check out what we’ve done and get just as excited about Maelstrom’s Edge as we are!
Pretty cool. I could always use another couple books to read. 🙂
looks interesting
I can feel the Maelstrom!
This weekends surprise on my part, looks very interesting, will have to get a copy the rules.
I like skirmish games. Still not found a scifi one that really grabs me. I think I will take a look at the website
Those minis are awesome.
Mini’s look amazing
$90 kickstarted is soooooooooo tempting too
the fluff on this is sounding pretty good
I’m already in on the kickstarter. The D6G interview already got me interested but thr rules won me over in the end 🙂
Word on Dakka Dakka is that the novels are quite good.
Absolutely love it! Already backed th kickstarter
The minis look realy cool
Sounds like these guys have set up a cool background for their game.
Looks like an interesting game
background sounds interesting, my name is on the list to win .
looks amazing
the KS looks awesome, must try and resist
The world building seems very interesting. Might just pick up the novels on amazon.
sounds good, might have to convince my son to back it..
Checked out the kickstarter, the Karist miniatures are sweet! Awesome work guys.
The game looks interesting, good luck with the kickstarter!
And again an interesting game. Oh well.
sounds like a neet game
Looks nice, but maybe is not the game for me.
books you say? I woul like to have it, perfecr read in plane to Warzone Bootcamp!!
Good luck with the kickstarter, it looks amazing!
Sounds like an interesting game.
I would love to try this.
Story sounds very compelling. Will definitely give this one a look.
but I cant read
Looks cool, loving to drones
Listening to the vid and the fact two novels have already been done its clear there is a quite a big focus on the back story and narrative to drive the games. Sound interesting…
More shiny new stuff…. Who could ask for more ?!?!
Sounds interesting
The background for this game is actually really interesting and you can listen to John Regul (the lead rules writer) discuss this – as well as the problems and issues with plastic models on episode 165 of the D6G podcast. Plastic models are a massive hassle unless you have access to the experts in this field …. of which there are surprisingly few!!
Anyone got ideas for a career change yet !?!
Looks interesting. Will keep an eye out.
Ah, those old Epic days…
I was totally unprepared for how much of this stuff was already painted up and on display at the show. I haven’t had the chance to look into the game mechanics – if there is anything to even read about yet – but I really like the solid look of the minis and I’m a total sucker for drones.
Sounds intriguing
I like the minis on this one.
so many interesting new games! Think I may well pick up a starter set!
Keeping an eye on this kickstarter
Epirians look nice, strong posture.
I’m not particularly taken with the background – although it’s great to see something with so much thought put into it – but I like the ethos of the guys behind this game. I hope it does very well.
Great looking sculpts, so many cool games so little time
this looks like it is going to be a great game
I was waiting for new Warpath rules, but this might be my new 40K.
