New Movie Trailer Is Out For Star Wars Force Awakens [Updated]
April 16, 2015 by brennon
Tomorrow (April 16th) at 10:00 a.m. PST StarWars.com will be hosting a live stream where they talk about the new film, The Force Awakens, from J.J Abrams with cast members and also show off Star Wars: Battlefront from EA Games for the first time...
Update...
We've now seen some more images coming out of the Star Wars celebration which include a look at Kylo Ren...
...and a look at some new versions of the updated Stormtrooper which come with some special weapons and armour premutations to make them look extra cool.
Star Wars Chat
The main discussions throughout the celebrations will take place in a Cantina setting and will have loads of events and panels featuring stars from the films including Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid and more.
There will also be a streaming of the fan made radio drama Smuggler's Bounty and there promises to be around 30+ hours of content for Star Wars fans to enjoy running over to Sunday night.
Battlefront!
The big thing, for us at least, is that they're also showcasing EA Games' Star Wars: Battlefront which promises to take you into the midst of the massive battles from the original trilogy and beyond. The latest teaser images have been showing the Battle of Hoth which will hopefully get you psyched for our participation game at Salute this year.
The original two games were awesome and you can still play them on the likes of Steam (and if you've managed to search through bargain bins on consoles too) but the latest game should hopefully make for a really visceral Battlefront experience.
There's no word exactly when the Battlefront segment will appear in the line-up but I'm sure we'll have a schedule soon.
Are you excited for a new Star Wars video game?

I have been looking forward to this for a very, very long time. The space combat in BF2 was excellent IMHO – a little buggy, but the right combination of arcade action vs simulation. I just hope EA aren’t too heavy handed with the microtransactions lol
I’d be excited except that I’ve sworn off of purchasing any EA games until they change their anti-customer practices a few years ago and unfortunately nothing has changed (and is some respects they’ve gotten worse). If you think gwPLCs’ practices are bad take a look at EA.
Games like this are tempting but there is always something to remind me of that special EA connection. So like with gwPLC voted and continue to vote with my wallet until significant positive change is achieved.
I’m worried this will be less Star Wars Battlefront and more “Battlefield Star Wars” tbh, But I’m hoping to be surprised.
That said If the battlepack system is as prevalent as it is in bf 4 and hardline, and they expect us to pay £100 on day one for dlc packs that break the game every 3 months again, they can shove it were the Gungan stuck its midichlorians.
Me’s a sensin’ hostility, but ah not playin’ de game me’s a not ‘cos that Darth Video game’s the slide into darkness me’s a thinkin’
Would be excited for this …. but … it’s EA.
I’ve been stabbed in the heart and back by them and their various studios far too many times.
I might get it in a year or two when all the DLC is out and the game costs maybe 5 euros. But definitely not going to buy this or any of the DLC full price or even half price.
That’s all I can think to say really.
“If only it weren’t EA…”
What you said.
EA are always a major stay away sign, particularly if the game is going to need any support after release. Only need to look at the ‘support’ that WAR got, and the complete mess that the SWTOR support has been to know that.
I couldn’t agree more @dags you’ve also got to mention Battlefield 4. This game is still broken from day release and its only got worse. EA are a very poor software company when it comes to aftersales support.
BF4 was a complete mess when it was released. I’d argue it took a year for it to eventually get sorted out (and if you jumped into BF4 having no knowledge of its issues, I think you’d be perfectly satisfied. I do believe lessons were learned though, because Battlefield Hardline’s actual launch went pretty well, although the DLC packages are a complete and utter mess; should some of the content even exist DLC and not be part of the game? The pricing model of the DLC is completely wrong and unfortunately is indicative of a real problem with the whole… Read more »
Don’t care that it’s EA dice dose a good job. Game looks good and as long as I have fun playing I don’t care who makes it. And if it’s that bad I’ll get a refund
that looks great!! I would love to play that!
Been waiting for another Battlefront, now for another Empire at War ;p
I am hopeful. ….foolishly, foolishly, hopeful.
Screw the computer game….TRAILER!
I’m watching now as I “work”. I’m such a geek haha
StarWarsStarWarsStarWarsStarWarsStarWars! 😀
That is all.
Anyone else not in love with the jock strap that makes up the lower half of that guys mask? Definitely not the best star wars helmet ever. Little bit like a fan film costume.
I think it’s rubbish. He reminds me of a cylon. The helmet is really bad, I think they tried too hard.
Looks like a standard Dark Jedi type to me. Nothing over the top.
Chewie……were home!
Kylo looks like a ninja horse.
Just saw the trailer – this looks a lot more interesting than Episodes 1 – 3. Some very nice background touches.
A Chewie looks as if he hasn’t aged a day 🙂
Chewie, we’re home.
I cried.
So wonderfull.
I’ve watched the trailer 3 times now, I can’t stop smiling
Still reckon the football droid looks rubbish :S
Don’t know what all the fuss is about. After the first two movies the rest are hee-haw.
“After the first two movies the rest are hee-haw.”
I went out of the room, came back and forgot where I was! I should have said “…the rest is just hee-haw”. None of the games have ever been any good since the original PS ‘battlefront’.
That trailer is better then the last three movies put together.
Crashed star destroyer… chewie we’re home… pretty cool looking female jedi…sold, sold sold… now please don’t fuck it up
For a series set admitedly ‘a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away’, but also in a very futuristic culture, Starwars has always been rather conservative in its casting. It is good to see another Black person other than Londo somehwere in the galaxy, and we even seem likely to get our first female jedi main protagonist character outside Ashoka Tano from the Clone Wars animated series. It seems that the Starwars main continuity might be preparing to enter the twentyfirst century afterall. Overall, everything is looking rather good (still not sure about that crossguard lightsabre though). Here’s… Read more »
Love it, just love it. Chewie, we really are home now. 😀
Not a star wars fan really
But that last bit made we cry out ‘f*ck yes!!!!’ I hope this doesn’t suck
