Footsore Miniatures Bow Before The Dark Age Irish King Brian Boru

Footsore Miniatures have put together a few previews of what's coming for their dark age collection. The first of these is the Irish King Brian Boru followed by some Saxon Thegns and Irish Slingers...
Kneel Before The King
A great little vignette is how Brian Boru takes form. He is sitting in his throne flanked by two of his closest guards and retainers. I think this would be an awesome model to use in the huge SAGA Mead Hall as he judges the fighters below...
Brian Boru was a rather well loved King and he was respected by his enemies as much as he was his own people. The Norse-Gaels and Scandinavians even included him in some of their own Sagas.
Reinforcements!
If you're looking for some more metal models to bolster your skirmishing forces then see what you think of both the Saxon Thegns and Irish Slingers we mentioned earlier...
The Saxon soldiers above will be coming with spears and shields I would imagine and I hope that those little 'nubs' on the end of their arms would be a nice easy way to attach the shield arms themselves! I've recently started my own Saxon warband (take two) for SAGA so these could be great as little leader characters in the warrior units.
As well as that we have the Irish Slingers for Brian Boru's army. The stones that these warriors tossed towards their enemies were like bullets and could puncture armour thanks to the strength of the individual and the techniques for throwing them.
Do you want to bolster your army?

Those are looking promising.
Just read a book about Brian Boru – these couldn’t have come at a better time!
