Head Out On The Devil’s Run, A New Game of Vehicular Battles
March 31, 2015 by dracs
Word Forge Games, the guys behind Guardians of Eden, have announced that they are currently working on another new game. This time they're heading out on the highway in the post-apocalyptic vehicle battle game The Devil's Run: Route 666.
The Devil's Run: Route 666 will be a 20mm scale vehicle racing and battle board game, all set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world.
So far, not many more details have appeared for this game, but Word Forge have published this image of a boxed set complete with stylish cover art.
From this we can see that it will draw heavily upon the highway carnage of classic movies such as Mad Max, where road bandits convert modern day vehicles into almost unrecognisable destructive machines!
The fact that this has been announced to be a 20mm scale tabletop game has me excited that we will hopefully get to see a wide variety of different vehicles taking to the road. The great thing about a setting like this is that you can really let your imagination go wild when creating your machines. The smaller scale should allow you to field plenty of vehicles as part of the race and, if the cover art is anything to go by, should result in a fairly manic game.
What do you hope to see as part of The Devil's Run?

Looks OK but would like to get more info but it does remind me of a very old games workshop game but for the life of me i cant think of the name.
Battlecars or its sequel Dark Future?
and they go all the way back to Steve Jackson’s Car Wars
Gorkamorka?
(Does 1997 count as “very old” yet?)
Word Forge? Really???
Was it this?

Awesome! Dark Future is one of my fav games ever so i’ll be getting this. Any images of the mini’s knockin abaaat?
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this. Obviously with only a picture of the box art, it’s hard to say whether I’ll buy it but it’s got me interested.
This could interest me found my Dark Future last year and a few cars have been added to my project list.
20mm post-apocalyptic vehicle combat? Sounds a lot like Outrider. So far, anyway. I’ll have to wait and see what else it has to offer.
