1st Corps Drops In The British Airborne and Their Artillery
March 30, 2015 by stvitusdancern
1st Corps has a few new releases and a couple of them caught my eye. With the new Beasts of War Bolt Action Locked and Loaded Show, I'm always on the lookout for WWII miniatures. This time it is some British Airborne with their 6 lb anti-tank gun and the howitzer and crew.
Both of these sets are in 28mm and have some nice detail, especially the arty (that's what we call artillery in the army). The howitzer brings back memories because it is very similar if not the same model that was used in the 82nd Airborne Division when I was a member in the 1980s. We dropped them from planes and the British during WWII landed them in gliders.
Both of these would make for a really nice addition to anyone playing the British Airborne in any rule set that can be played with 28mm. A side note, you can order the howitzer with the AT crew if you want the Airborne camouflage and helmets instead of tans and berets.
Do you think your airborne forces need some artillery?

Love the character on the infantry, the guns look cool, but the guys manning them really stand out. I think I would have to model at least one if them with a big fat cigar!
Great models. Love em
Those are rather nice with crew having plenty of character and guns being rather good.
Look awesome – although every time I see field guns like this I keep thinking of that episode of Dad’s Army where they got one. 😛
