Ninja All-Stars Attacks From The Shadows & Launches On Kickstarter
March 24, 2015 by brennon
Ninja All-Stars from Soda Pop Miniatures and Ninja Division has appeared on Kickstarter and it's already doing very well for itself! If you like the idea of chibi-style ninjas facing off against each other in competitive challenges then this is the game for you...
First up we have the ONE pledge level for the game that nets you everything that comes out as stretch goals alongside the main boxed game. As you can see it is a fair mass of stuff with four clans in the base game alongside all the tiles and gubbins.
Shojo's Shop also shows you the additional characters and such that have been added into the game. One thing you can say about Ninja All-Stars from the off is that they appear to have got the level of quality and consistency down when it comes to these games. All of the models look great and have a great sense of theme. They know what the backers want and bring out projects like this that really keep to their own in-house style.
Above you can see both the various stretch goals that have been unlocked for the game and those that are yet to come. I think my favourite of the ones so far would have to be the massive Oni for the different clans, all of which are looking suitably awesome, especially the purple one. A close second would be Yagyu Jubei who just oozes cool.
Karate Fight is an additional option for those of you wanting some different Ninja All-Stars action with a fast paced card game that previously had an incarnation based on the Takoashi University (also from Soda Pop Miniatures) universe. If you've played Slapjack, Egyptian Ratscrew, or Snip-Snap-Snorem - it's like that!
If you'd like to know how to play the game you can head over to the Kickstarter page where they've got a comprehensive run down of the mechanics. I hope that we'll see a gameplay video in the future however as I think that works ten times better than just having text to read. Mechanics are much more fun to learn when you see them in action!
Have you pledged?

I’m for the minis and the SDE crossover cards. If the game is good then that’s just gravy.
These are some fun little ninjas. The painted examples look great. I wish it was a proper wargame. I’d play that!
… well how does a skirmish game sound to you ? 😉
( sinister laughter heard from deep in the woods )
😛 😛 😛
That would be really nice!
😉 well you might be happy soon then 😉
Any chance of looking deep into the woods and telling us whether the skirmish game will use these minis?
hmmm… well sodapop does like doing card packs that make games cross compatible 😉
Ninja All-Stars Relic Knights?
hmm, that’s that’s a cool idea too 😀
… but the thing lurking in the woods is an all together different kind of beast 😉
It may sound harsh, but Soda Pop really needs to improve their modelling. As always the art is beautiful but the minis are just plain ugly. Those faces man, those faces.
The poor Candy’s face is horrible. And Bomechan, she just looks like something went wrong in the printing stage.
PS: all said in my humble opinion, if someone like their modelling style, great. It is just not good enough for my taste ^_^
In my humble opinion the minis you’re looking at are not the same minis I’m looking at. The implication that if you like these minis your standards are lower than yours is a bit off too.
… you do realize that sodapop has more than 1 sculptor right ? and remember, people work very hard on these projects, that 1 mini could be days of someones life right there … and granted, I work mostly on the monster / anthro side of things, and only sometimes on the chibis, … but still, those sculptors tried their best, and will often continue to improve sculpts at bizarre hours of the night 😛 ( which is why people often say they look better in person than on the early previews ) so I guess I just feel like… Read more »
I’m all in on this one…..and the SDE compatibility ls a bonus!
Also I couldn’t agree more with redben, over his “humble opinion”….. just class!
when I first saw the Chibi style I wasn’t too impressed either. But looking at them in person and seeing the context of the games they are intended for has totally changed my mind. In person the minis are really nice. I was so impressed we backed SDE: Forgotten King and Now this one. I totally understand that the style is not for everyone but in these it works.
There’s been two new pledge levels added to the KS. They’re both still $100, but they allow you construct your collections of minis as you prefer. If want to maximise the clan specific sculpts then go for Elemental Master. This one gives you a choice of any four unlocked clans. If you want to maximise the generic shrine ninja then go for Ninja Master. This one gives you four sets of shrine ninja in different colours and two clans of your choice.
It seems to be causing some confusion over in the comments section. So to save people having to scroll through them trying to find the answers, the original All-Star pledge is essentially dead and has been replaced by Ninja Master. The pledge level can’t be removed as an option though so anyone who gets to the end of the campaign still on All-Star will be changed to Ninja Master. The main difference between All-Star and Ninja Master is you can now choose which two clans you want instead of getting the two set clans. That couldn’t be done at the… Read more »
Awesome stuff.
With the WWX kickstarter going on, I’m hoping I have enough for this afterward. =T If anything, SDE cards are a bonus!
