It's time to drop in from on high with the addition of some cool Drop Trooper concept art from Icarus Miniatures for their ongoing Sci-Fi project. See what you think of these Alliance soldiers below...

Alliance Drop Trooper

These Drop Trooper can obviously use their jet packs to land anywhere on the board, as you might have imagined, and will be useful in claiming those last minute objectives during the late game. They also come with a great movement value making them perfect for flanking the enemy.

Interestingly one of the things they mentioned in the background about these soldiers is that they're used in space-based combat as well as land based assaults. Anyone up for a low gravity board where these guys can zoom the outside of a ship or the surface of some space station?

Alliance Drop Trooper (Back Pack)

The jet pack itself is a really nicely detailed piece of kit and if they manage to get all the segments and such looking as detailed on the final miniatures then you're in for a treat while you're painting. Get right in there with the burn effects and the weathering to show a used piece of kit. You could even work on some object source lighting from the jet itself.

Check out the rules for the Icarus Project HERE and let us know how Drop Troopers have served you.

What do you think of the art?
